Was the hardest project for my grandson and my son in law.would not buy again

Fun STEM project with my 8 y/o grandchild. I had to assist her by holding screws and providing guidance in reading the instructions. She was so proud of the completed build, she is taking it into class as show & tell. Parts seem of good quality with good packaging.Complaints and suggested improvements; although this kit allows different multiple builds, the included printed instructions show a single build. You are directed to a video site for other builds. Unfortunately this video site has three major issues; lacks assembly detail, is way too fast (need to slow down the vid to follow) and doesn't show ALL possible builds. Improvements; address the video issues and, most importantly, include printable or viewable PDF step by step instructions for all builds associated with this kit.

My kid and I had high hopes for the Meccano fire truck, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The screwdriver doesn't fit all the bolts, which is incredibly frustrating for kids. The fire truck itself is also extremely flimsy, making it almost impossible to play with. Adding 5-10 extra bolts to make the construction sturdier would have made a big difference. I don't recommend this product.

The idea of the fire truck is cool for a 5 year old. The toy just fell short of expectations. Legos hold together tighter than this build. I’ve worked with erector sets from my childhood. This all plastic model just doesn’t work. With that said, I have purchase a more traditional metal erector set from the same manufacturer, we have don’t built them yet, but I hold higher expectations of the full/mostly metal set.Worked with my 6 year old to build this fire truck step by step. Needed to modify the nut driver to fit the Allen head screws. Wrench fit the nuts fine, but certain part did not have clearance to use the plastic wrench. Once built, normal play resulted in many nuts backing off leaving parts either lose or falling off. The parts just won’t stay tight, and require constant re-tightening. Problem is many lose parts require partial disassembly to get to the screws or nuts that have fallen out.Also, a toy that requires the manual dexterity to hold the toy, and a wrench and a screwdriver is not what I would consider a toy rated at 5 years old as listed.

Wheels are attached poorly, and fall off with just a few min of play. Had to redesign. Needs a 2.0 revision.

I sent this to my grandson for Christmas. I asked my son-in-law how did it go and he informed me that the truck is missing two pieces! HOW AGGRAVATING!!! Especially after how I kept talking about how I had Erector sets growing up ... quite a disappointment.

The set has ability for one build. To make other builds requires other parts not in this set. This means additional sets. Not a great value for money

The instructions are poorly written for even 10 year olds, which this is supposed to be for 10 and up. The instructions are pictures only and not very detailed. It only comes with ONE robot instructions... The rest it seems are on YouTube which is worse. You can't see clearly the pieces being used and the guy is going way too fast. Disappointing as this was a gift... I'm thinking of returning unfortunately.
