Great value if you use a lot of Perlite in potting up young plants. A big bag, although obviously very light - I’ve found it easier to decant into sealed tubs to minimise the dust in the air.Perlite adds drainage to pots for young plants and seedlings. I didn’t find it so good for dahlia tubers in pots though.If keeping the bag outside, wrap it up in a bin bag or similar and keep it out of the rain.

The media could not be loaded. Excellent value for money Perlite,.that I have used for my indoor plants requiring drainage. I will also be using it to prepare the soil for my tomatoes plants I have used some for my strawberry plants too.I did not find it over bearingly dusty and the size of the granules were perfect. It mixed very easily into the soil, and did not cause a mess, even when I used it indoors. I have also used it as a too surface for plantar because it looks good and reflects the sunlight. I think that this Perlite is an absolute bargain and would recommend.

This huge bag has lasted all year. It's been put in indoor planting, outdoor planting - can't believe how little goes a long way. And I can't believe the difference in price here compared to buying in local garden centres. It would cost £100 for the same amount if I bought it in the local shops in small bags.Repotting swiss cheese plants using a perlite and soil mix has improved their root drainage massively and makes shifting the plant around a lot easier as the container is now half the weight, as perlite is super light.Outdoor veg and flower troughs are now less hassle to move around too and the perlite means roots get a great chance to spread fast and drain easily - which is a bonus in windy, rainy Scotland. I've also been adding it to areas of soil the garden which house plants best grown in grit and they seem to be thriving even though the sun was WEFfing stolen from us this Summer for a month and a half the day after solstice.Giant bag of great quality perlite. Easy to store, even though it's big, because it's so easy to shift around. Absolute bargain. Going to order next year's bag now.About to buy next year's bag.

Much cheaper than Garden Centres

Ordered this large 100 litre bag in time to pot up tulips in terracotta pots. The grade of the perlite is just right to provide the drainage when mixed with compost. I didn't want large pieces. The main benefit is that it is very light compared with adding horticultural grit which makes moving the filled pots much easier. Some care is needed when transferring the perlite from the opened bag into a trug or pot due to very fine dust rising as the perlite is moved. It soon settles but you might want to wear a mask to avoid breathing it in. Overall very pleased and this will last me all year.
