NWOBHM Millennium (2 n's)
Cleveland's (England) Millennium enjoyed a pretty rapid rise through the ranks, first coming to prominence (relatively shortly after forming) after deservedly winning a piece on Guardian's inconsistent "Pure Overkill" compilation in 1983. Afforded a very generous allowance of three tracks, the lucky quintet dully delivered "Steal Your Heart","Rock Was Meant For Me" and "Magic Mirror", a capable selection of numbers which stood out in the company of some less than inspiring competition. The talent hungry label was clearly impressed with the cut aforementioned tracks, and soon was given cash for a full album. In fact, each of the aforementioned tacks would find their place of the eponymous debut. The LP received glowing review from Kerrang, the review said: " Millennium contains a generous helping of mid-paced metal occasionally reminiscent of such NWOBHM acts such as Avenger or Duchess; and at times later 80s combos like Desolation Angels and Black Riders. Many songs have the dual harmonies of bands like Thin Lizzy & Wishbone - heavy yet very melodic. Nice melodic soloing mixed with NWOBHM backing guitar rhythms. Moments of sub-Metallica heaviness appear on "The Devil Rides Out"... this song gets pretty heavy. The mellow song like "The Traveller", "Rock Was Meant For Me" are played with a lot of feeling and passion, awesome early Saxon (think "Frozen Rainbow"), great melodic dual guitars, and the song ends with heavier power chords)."Steal You're Heart" starts of in a very Germanic fashion (something like mid era Scorpions). Oddly the intro to "Armageddon" sounds like a riff straight off of Satan's "Court in The Act"!, which raises its head throughout the song. "Try To Leave Me" has riffing reminiscent of the 2nd and 3rd Saxon albums, great Bitches Sin type wild guitar solos.(For fans of Spartan Warrior, Tokyo Blade, Bitches Sin.)

This is a great NWOBHM album that came out in 1984
This is a great NWOBHM album that came out in 1984. I still have the LP from back then. Sadly it was the only album they ever did, but as it turns out, they have released the album on CD and are working on another. It's an early NWOBHM album that has a number of great songs on it. For that time period, I think this was a great album. I'm pleased to see that it has been released on CD.
