...germinated fine...
I ordered these seeds late in the year with the intent of planting them in the spring. Since a number of comments allude to problems with germination I decided to sow a few right away. They have germinated fine, The first hard frost used to occur around here in late August or early September but with global warming we have not had one yet. We also used to have an Indian Summer after the first frost that would last until late October, so maybe we won't have a first frost until late October, early November. What I am saying is that they germinated fine and if I get some (unexpected) flowers this fall I will let you know. Otherwise, I will plant again in the spring.Jim

i am confused
These seeds are great. Most of them germinated. they are hardy and continued to bloom since I planted them 6 months ago. I give it 3 stars because this is not the calendula officinalis I was expecting with the main purpose of using it to make lotion (in the near future when I have the time). I realized it when I saw a picture of the officinalis (pot marigold) online. the flowers and leaves don't look like the one in the packaging. they looked more like the French marigold. the seeds also are different as I ordered the "real calendula officinalis seeds" (from another vendor) which came today. I wonder if these marigold flowers I got from earthcare are edible like the pot marigold.

Awesome!
I had a wild jungle of marigolds blooming long and prolific without any maintenance. I do not need to buy them again, because I have been gathering seeds and have now tens of thousands waiting for springtime to plant. Awesome!

All I did was scatter some seeds where I wanted them. That's it.These had the highest germination rate in my entire garden.Plant these!

So far only one seed has germinated and I've planted ...
So far only one seed has germinated and I've planted under grow lights with a heat mat and direct seeded. I've also tried germinating them in the dark, which supposedly they need according to gardening advice sites. No luck.

If you want pretty flowers it might not matter but if you are ...
I ordered English Marigold Calendula Officinalis and was shipped Crackerjack Marigold Tagetes Erecta. If you want pretty flowers it might not matter but if you are actually using it for medicinal/skin care, they are not the same species. I've asked for a refund so we'll see how that goes.
