Sewing for 40+ years
It it amazing! I’ve had a few regular Singers, Brothers, and the last two were Janomes; nothing comes close to this machine.First, it is heavy. It’s 38 pounds of durable, quality aluminum. It sits solidly on my table. There is almost no vibration as I cranked the speed to the max. My latest Janome weighs 12.8 pounds. I had to check because it’s me.Second, the speed! It took almost an hour for me to adjust. I cannot imagine going back to a regular domestic machine. I pieced a quilt top in less than half the usual time for a familiar pattern. Once you adjust to the speed, projects whip together in record time.Third, the power. Wow! It plowed through all the layers of my grandson's quilt with ease. I had a cotton top, Warm and Natural middle, and cotton backing. There was no hesitation, drag, or feeling that it was a struggle. There is NO comparison to my previous machines. I haven’t tried leather or canvas, but I’m sure it would sew without any problems.Fourth, the quality of the stitch. On any stitch length, every stitch was perfect. No skipping, no variation because it was pulling fabric through, nothing but perfection. This is a straight stitch only machine. I use it primarily for piecing and quilting, plus the occasional clothing repair. You must oil it every time you use it. Cheap thread with deposit lint throughout the head, so prepare to clean it regularly. Some bits are different than a regular machine, such as the needle mounts with the flat edge to the right, not the back. The bobbin also enters from the left, not center front. It’s not a big deal, just different. Threading is somewhat different too. Pull up some videos and you’ll be fine. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I’ve not tried the auto threader. If you’re on Facebook, there are multiple Juki groups; join as many as you can. It is a wonderful resource of helpful people. This is the high speed sewing machine of your dreams. I would talk anyone into buying it. If you’re a serious sewing person, you will truly appreciate the quality of this machine.

LOVE this machine!
I got this machine for no-frills sewing and for quilting. I have a BabyLock for the fancy stuff. Both machines are fantastic for what they do. I had a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the Juki threaded - it's really different from any thing I've used before - but thanks to YouTube and Juki Junkies videos I got it figured out. It is NOT difficult, just different. Once that hurdle was crossed, I fell in love! This sweet machine will tackle any thing I put in front of it. I do some fairly thick quilts and my Juki never skips a stitch. It is a powerful machine that can tackle any project. If you want to do fancy stuff, this one will be a disappointment, but if you want a strong machine that can sew all kinds of fabric (even leather!) this is the machine for you...and if you want fast - oh my gosh! It is a speed demon and again, it never skips a stitch. Just the best machine ever!

Love love love this!!
This is a powerhouse machine. I love it!! Sews great and fast. Not a machine for sissy’s. I put 8 fold fabric through just to try and it was no problem

Worst possible
1. The machine stopped working after a month of use - just after the return window has closed at Amazon. Initially started suddenly cutting the thread in the middle of the seam. Than it would continue the seam, leaving a gap, where it has cut the thread. The thread tension is normal. The spool barrel was clean. Nothing being stuck in the mechanism. We deed all the steps by the manual - did not help. Than it has stopped working altogether.2. I am an experienced seamstress with 20+ years of experience and needed a sturdy reliable and stable machine for making garments. My working horse was a Janome machine which was geared towards hoobby use and after 15 years of daily use is starting to wear out. Juki seemed to be a good alternative as it indeed does not vibrate much during operation. Also it was capable of working with a range of thicknesses. That is until it stopped working.3. Warranty struggle - I was not able to register it for warranty for 4 months. I would fill out the form on the page and click “submit’” and nothing would happen. I did the same form over and over again on my computer, using Crome, Firefox, Edge and Google. I did it on my iPad and the phone - it would not work. I tried calling their customer service - there would be no response, just the voice mail. I left many messages. Started writing them e-mails. They responded with “very sorry” and “the webpage is broken” and we’ll register the machine for you - AND THEY DID NOT. After two weeks of waiting, I’ve contacted them through the e-mail again and got a response that the page is running and I should go ahead and do the registration myself. The CATCH: it is now past 90 days of the purchase and it is past the deadline, specified in the instruction. I did go to the page - it has accepted the info this time, but the warranty is not valid. And the machine broke way before.4. Repeated finger injury with the threading mechanism - I am used to not having any sharp hooks on the side of my needle and keep on cutting my fingers on the side of the threading mechanism, when lifting the lever to release the fabric.
