It worked, but design could be improved
I crimped cable railings with this, and it worked ok. The design could be improved in a few ways preventing some of the problems I experienced. First the lever arm was hard to compress to do the amount on the crimp. The instructions said to not over compress to not damage the unit, so my first few crimps were too light and the cable came loose. You have to apply a fair amount of muscle to get the crimp all the way tight, and that's a design issue.Second, the dies will rotate in the head, so there were many times I had to stop and release the pressure to line them up again to start the crimp correctly. I don't see any reason to allow the die to rotate - another design issue.Given those two concerns, the unit was a great price and worked to make over 200 crimps for my cable fence. Good product, but a few improvements away from being great.

Do not waste your money
The dies are useless after about 50 crimps, metal is to soft. The internal seals fail, replaced them with seals provided when purchased and they failed after about 20 crimps, This is the second unit I purchased (out of necessity) and both failed in about the same timeframe. I purchased the extra warranty and you have to jump through hoops so eventually gave up .

Unfortunately sometimes you get what you pay for
I purchased this thinking great - the next step up is $65 and these are $45 - they look the same, I'm sure it will work. WRONG. Not even 1 crimp - the die molded to the swage screw I was attempting to crimp for my cable railing. Went with the $65 dollar ones, these were returned within an hour of receiving. Save yourself the frustration and time and just get the better quality.
