Girl has learned her stuff on nutrition and exercise. Yes, those of us past our early twenties already know the majority of this info, but breezy refreshers help us too. What sold me on this book is the 20% of forward thinking content that I didn't know much about and found to be really valuable. Some of these include: embracing your situation as always in flux, listening to body feedback through journaling, being able to change perspective on hard experiences through "reframe" cognitive behavior techniques, laughing at the folly of "perfectionism" and the way we obsessively project it onto successful figures, learning any new thing is a process through experimentation, consulting with experts but ultimately keeping ourselves in the driver's seat of decision making, consciously choosing to release shame from past mistakes, embracing baby steps forms of meditation, etc.Respect to Hudson for the great read-- got even more from it than I anticipated!

I LOVE this book
I LOVE this book. It has really helped me take control of the emotional side of my life. While I have a grip on diet and exercise this book has revealed to me that there were areas of happiness I would not achieve if I didn't deal with my other stuff. This book is the beginning of a journey for me and really gets you thinking about your life without being pushy. It just lets you do the work in your life in a nonoverwhelming way. I feel like myself again in a lot of ways and that is a good thing. You will also feel like you are personal friends with this beauty by the middle of the book!

Motivating and positive!
I actually enjoyed reading this book. Yes, it repeated what we all know. Eat right and exercise. But I liked her positivity, it didn't feel preachy, and it motivated me to "tune in" to my body. It is a bit new age for me but I still enjoyed it.

Fabulous book !!!!!!!
This book is amazing. I just read this book in a time in my life that has help me find myself again.Kate Hudson.... thank you... I can't put everything I have gained from this book into words. The amazing self confidence has returned and feelings in my spirit, soul and life has helped me realized I had been putting many of my fun, joys, excitement in the back of cupboard... I know I can release my inner thoughts, I can meditate to help me breath and not judge myself or allow myself to be judged. That eating healthy is this book is a good thing not a diet. Cleansing = a fresh start. I love the meal plans, grocery list and references provided in this bookI bought this book for my daughter and my son's girlfriend for Christmas this year. They noticed changes in me, back to my happy self again. Thank you !!!!I loved it .

For fans...
I like Kate Hudson's movies so I bought the book.No new or insightful information here, just a pretty book with nice colours and pictures.If you are a Kate Hudson fan or if you are a young teen new to tips on 'how to' look after yourself you would like it.If you have been reading woman's magazines for years and are up to date on caring for your health you won't find it revolutionary.

Not at all what I expected
There were some useful tips and recommendations on diet, exercise, meditation but the content was light on actual strategies to work on building resilience to be a happier you. Even though it was a light read, it didn't hold my attention and I found it difficult to keep going to the end. Also, some of the diet tips were contradictory. And the pictures, while nice, didn't relate to the content at all

The positive reviews here pretty much say it all
I chose this book because of the good reviews, and it delivers. I was looking for something to keep me motivated in my recently-begun quest to live a more holistically healthy lifestyle. It helps that I'm a Kate Hudson fan, but I love the material in it, it's an easy and enjoyable read, and provides some great advice and insights about body awareness and mindfulness. Doesn't take itself too seriously, which is also a plus. Maybe some minor typos or mistakes on the body type quizzes, but doesn't detract from the all-around good stuff in this book.

An inspiring read!
What a better way to start a new year than with Pretty Happy by one of the most lovely actresses (and wellness experts) out there!I rarely read books like that but the title of this book got me thinking maybe I should do more for my health and wellness. In this day and age, we are constantly bombarded by books to tell us how to live our life in a better way, but I think if we can find the happy middle we are on a pretty contant and happy road.In Pretty Happy, Kate Hudson explains how she find her inner and outer happiness, and I must admit I have taken some tips and tried them out myself (the meditation and I have made a drawing board - very therapeutic)! I admire Kate's meditation routine and also her attitude to living body smart!Kate cleverly divides her books into three parts. The three sections dig into body tunning, drawing our own sound board, a better way to move our bodies and also rest our body and mind and take stock of what is important for our families and us.The books are simple and easy to follow, and I have taken a tip or two that I am already happy practising! I think there is a truth in finding your own pretty happy. Worth reading.
I really liked this book. Kate comes across as a lovely lady. She gives a new insight into healthy living for the mind, body and soul. The proof is in the pudding, so hopefully I will reappear in a short while a different woman!
