Chanda, one of the women who makes this item in her home, contracted scoliosis as a child. Due to poverty and her disability, she only completed the 5th grade. She joined Sitara Handicrafts vocational training program showing exceptional skill in embroidery. Chanda uses her earnings to help take care of her parents and one day would like to buy a piece of land.
