Thought provoking book
I really enjoyed this book. My book club tops through it together. It really helped me understand a lot about aging and help me understand a lot about the difference between myself and my children. Is a very helpful read!

It helped put into words the random thoughts and feelings that were jumbled in my mind.
I was at a point in my faith life where I yearned for more. I wanted to go deeper, but my church did not have a program to help me to the next level. This book is what I had been yearning for but could not even name. FYI, it is not so much about changing others. It is about going deeper into your faith journey, enlightenment, joy, and love. The "second half of life" can be exciting, meaningful, and joyful. Thank you Richrd Rohr..

A thought provoking book for the second half of your life.
Initially I downloaded this on my Kindle but there were so many interesting thoughts and ideas I wanted the hard copy to highlight in my own style. This was not a fast read because I stopped repeatedly to reread, process, or think extensively about the author’s message. I highly recommend it and there’s a companion journal to go with it.

Workbook Companion to the Falling Upward Book
I've flipped through the book, the questions are intended to make you think, and go work on uncovering your own "container" and what keeps you stuck or moves you to the second half of life. Challenging, and worthwhile. Don't let the fact the the writer is a Catholic priest influence you one way of the other, this book would be a great aid for every thoughtful spiritual person.

This book woke me up to my second half of life
This book inspired me to see my first half of life in a new light and be proactive to live into my second half of life in ways that I didn't realize were even possible. So inspired and I used the workbook as well.

Inspiring
I really enjoyed this. Getting new insights about Christianity that I’ve never encountered before. Finally a faith that attracts me in my old age after being raised as a fundamental Protestant missionary child and avoiding religion as an adult. Will read all his books

A Spiritual Companion for Mid-life
I can't say enough, not just about his book but about Richard Rohr. He is by far my most favorite spiritual writer (even more so than Henri Nouwen and that's saying A LOT!!). He and his books have helped me tremendously in my spiritual journey in a way that the church has been unable to. I own much of the peace and freedom I now experience in God to him and his writing. Now if you Google him, undoubtedly you will find "warnings" about him being "New Age" or a heretic. But haven't all the great spiritual mothers and fathers been branded the same including Jesus Himself? In fact, I seem to remember Jesus giving us a heads up that if you live an authentic Christian life, you WILL be persecuted. Sadly most often by other Christians. I have found no greater guide and map to helping me to navigate this uncharted territory we call mid-life. What a gift he has given us.

Makes a lot of good points
He makes a lot of good points. It is a bit on the boring side. The book referenced classical literature I hadn't touched since high school, decades ago. If you are willing to read each chapter at least twice, you will get many good take away points.
