Good for my boomer parents
First off, this was a read meant to give my aging parents an idea of what they can do when retirement comes. They have been talking about traveling since I was a child. The first few pages talk about the pros and cons of RV life, which is great because they have no clue of what they're about to get into. It also spends time talking about how to choose an RV, the home they will live in for, well who knows how long. It talks about the classes of trailers, buying versus renting, amenity considerations, the top RV's on the market, how to decorate that it, and even how to set it up for the first time. I was personally more concerned with the tips, tricks and maintenance part, which I will highlight for my parents to make sure they read and absorb. There is even a short little troubleshooting section!! The essentials section was kind of a no brainer, I mean it essentially is your house so you should have all the house things in it. There were also good tips about kids (which won’t be joining my parents), pets, dealing with your finances, and how to take care of yourself on the road as well how to make a little money while you are out. All in all, it gave some good knowledge to pass on to my folks.

A truly comprehensive book on the subject of RV living
My husband and I had never considered living in an RV, not full-time, not part-time, not even for a single day. But then the world as we knew it turned completely on its head and we got hit by a pandemic. Things that we used to take for granted, like getting on a plane to go visit the kids and grandkids, or to visit our parents and siblings all of whom live in different states, is not something we feel safe or comfortable doing anymore. The solution? Getting an RV!Since this is a subject we knew absolutely nothing about, we decided to read Fred Donovan’s book together. In the beginning, we got scared. We didn’t want to read about the possibility of having our RV break down, or not finding a place to park it overnight. But then we learned about all the different styles and price ranges available, the possibility of arranging it and decorating it to our taste to making it a little home and the idea of meeting new people in campgrounds along the way to our various destinations and we are sold. We have even gone so far as to make an appointment with a local dealer (as suggested by the author) to try out several possible options. It has changed our outlook in a significant way and pointed out an interesting option for us, particularly for these interesting times we are living…

Intetesting
I don't have an RV. I have no intention of buying one. I don't even live in the United States (I live in New Zealand). But I found the book interesting. All the facts for retirees seemed to be covered.I'd love to read a book covering the RV road adventures of the writer. This current book was great for advice on buying and living with RVs but as the author is such a good writer I figure a heartfelt story about his own living on the road would be great too. Maybe he has written one, I will try to check it out.

RV Living for Seniors
I’ve been halfway considering going on an adventure in an RV if I’ll ever be able to afford it. I’m not a senior citizen but found it very helpful. Fred Donovan knows how to point out the positives and negatives and does not leave anything out. This addresses RV living in a very holistic way.
