An improvement on the OC-3 for the acoustic player.
I spent a lot of time researching this pedal before purchasing. My requirements were quite specific, as an acoustic player I wanted to use it to generate a faux bass part using the new lowest note setting. From the available reviews and videos I couldn’t tell if it was an improvement on the OC-3 or not (I had one but let it go).The positives, in short yes it is an improvement. It is usable for creating a faux bass part, and creates a nice octave that mixes in well with my clean sound. You’ve obviously got the usual tank like Boss construction, and the octave up is a nice little addition to have a play with. With the right set up you can strum full chords and get the low octave on the lowest note... it does work! The negatives, it is particular about what guitars (pick ups) it seems to like. So far I’ve had to park the acoustics (a K&K pure mini in one and a Fishman under saddle piezo in the other) as the tracking jumps around too much on the lowest note setting. However... it works very well with my electrics with humbuckers, using the neck position, as well as my noiseless single coils, (again neck position). I thought I might have to switch to electric to get the best out of this pedal, and I’m happy to do that until I get a better solution for the acoustic (I might add a submarine pro!).So overall I’m happy, just be prepared to experiment a little if you’re wanting (like me) to use this pedal for the lowest note setting. You can get a great result, but you’ll need to play about. Electric guitar, neck pickup, humbuckers, and the octave down level around 12 o’clock are working well for me at the moment. Happy experimenting if you take the plunge!

Up and Down.
Sounds fab with my bass and tracks really well. Vintage mode similar to OC2 while polyphonic mode can give a wide variety of sounds. Looking forward to using it in anger at next gig.

A classic sound and more!
I bought this pedal as a birthday gift for my boyfriend. He's a bassist who wanted this pedal for a 4 strings bass and he totally loved it. He said that the pedal makes the bass sound so much smother and monstrous lol I don't know what he meant by that but anyway, the pedal design is retro and cool.

Its an interesting pedal
It’s an interesting pedal that does go below. The octave played and also above. It is easy to use and if you like a fax plate on a few bars, this would be the one to do. However, there is a duty attached to it but that’s not a big deal. It’s still worth the buy.
