This train is horrible. I bought a track expansion to go along with it and whenever the train hits a corner it gets stuck and the wheels stop moving. I inspected the wheels and found that only a minimal amount of resistance caused them to stop moving. I returned it the same day it arrived. There's a reason DUPLO charges more for their products...BETTER QUALITY!

This train is a great addition to the LEGO DUPLO My First Train Set 10507 I bought for my two year old daughter recently. She was a big fan of the real Duplo train, but the options of that set were a little limited. It comes with only 12 bits of track, just enough bricks to build either a bridge or a shop and only one carriage to pull.To make playing with the train a little bit more fun for her (and for me) I wanted to buy an extra set, but not another expensive one from Lego. This set definitely does what I hoped it would do;- The track is now twice as long, so we can make various shapes and even make an 8-shape with a bridge.- The train can now go from one place to the other instead of just going round in a circle to stop at the same station.- My daughter can fit more Duplo people and animals in the extra carriages and make bigger tunnels.I wasn't too sure about the compatibility from just looking at the pictures, but when you hold the pieces next to each other they are very similar. The bricks and the tracks fit perfectly with the real ones and some bits are even nicer than the original set. The chimney on the locomotive, for instance, goes up and down when the train moves and the rooftops of the train open so you can put people in them. The little station/police office is also a big hit. Yes, the colors are a bit different and the prints on the blocks are not exactly the same quality but the set is really quite nice.In hindsight this is not just a good addition to the Duplo train, but it could have been nice as an alternative as well. I hope the company will start producing alternatives for the other (extortionately priced) Duplo sets.I have received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
