Hidden Gem but NOT for beginner
I have a fair amount of experience with different brands and different size/scale rc vehicles, and this one PERFORMS. I did upgrade the battery- not to 3S but rather with a 7.4volt with higher C rating. So some of my impression and positivity comes from the Thunder ability to be capable of using this upgraded battery. This vehicle is VERY fast and VERY well-dampened/ controlled by shocks and suspension design. It has a longer wheelbase than many of the claimed 1:10th scale pretenders that don't handle the speed nearly as well. This Truck gains speed and handles SO well! Very good tires. Handles snow amazingly well. Has no problem with puddles (unlike some of my RCs which don't live up to their mfgr claims). Splash splash splash and still continues to steer and accelerate! Now for the downside- two points1. The body shells NEED reinforcing. They cannot handle typical mishaps and will crack easily. This is a DIY project and there are many methods. One YouTube channel recommends drywall tape (lightly glued in place) followed by a layer of shoe goo adhesive. The results are good so I will copy his method.2. The reversing is set improperly from factory or something. The car will reverse, but it seems to be somewhat inconsistent. I can live with it, but I tried two of these and they both had the issue.Because of these points, I cannot recommend the car for a beginner. Someone who can DIY just a bit and who can control a VERY fast truck will appreciate the value here. Also, last note: the manual details another rc controller. Laegendary is NOT including that remote control but rather a less sophisticated one that works but is not quite on par with the one detailed in the owner's manual.

It handles really well!
The suspension is set up perfectly. A little soft for the street, but off road it just floats over everything. It's fast too. Gets over 30mph on stock battery and on 3s it hit 48mph on the nose. However, it cogs a little bit on stock battery and the motor really needs a fan if you want to run 3s. But with some slight tuning, it will be an absolute beast. It took some pretty good tumbles and I haven't broken anything yet. But the body is a little on the flimsy side. I also had to shim it up with some foam washers. The tires are phenomenal. Surprisingly soft but tear through the rough stuff. The rims came pretty bent out of the box but they didn't cause any vibration. You can't even tell when you drive it. All in all, I'd say its well worth the price. After a few more runs, I haven't broken a thing. Been through some tough crashes and nothing broken. But I have bent a drive shaft or 2. They're pretty flimsy. Nothing replaced, just bent drive shafts straight & ran it again. At these prices, you will not find a better truck for cheaper. I bought 3.

Broke within 5min, but still highly recommended for advance users
The media could not be loaded. Rear shock tower broke after 1 flip. Body is very thin and need DYI reenforcement; otherwise, it's a very good value for the money. Granted you need to purchase upgrade parts for this truck in order to make it a functional RC. If you plan on using it straight out of the box, you'll be disappointed. PS, also lookup reviews from YouTube can help you decide if this one is right for you. Overall- The best value for your $ even after adding all the upgrades.Highly recommended for advance or DIY users, not for beginners

This is the second time I've purchased is RC Truck and the second time I've had to return it !
Both Thunder trucks came out of the box with a rear wheel clearly out of alignment. The 1st one, a rear wheel was clearly out of alignment. The front bumper broken, at the screw points to the frame. The 2nd one, the left rear wheel was towed in considerably and both front wheels pointing different directions. The steering trim on the transmitter is useless.(need dials, not buttons) It was impossible to get either to drive in a straight line on pavement. I own a1:10 scale Legend that I love. until the pin on the right front half-shaft, at the steering knuckle came out. (returned, through the Asurion warranty purchased. This required me to send the truck back for repair. Will update this post when that is resolved) Also own 2, Sonic 1:16, 1, of which I gave to my grandson, and we love them. The 1:16 is a beast, fast and quite durable, for a 9 year old. the fast and slow mode is great option. (missing on the the Thunder transmitter)I had a suspension issue on the first 1:16, I purchased, and the phone tech support was GREAT, they sent me the part, UPS, all was good. Then, when the half-shaft issue with the Thunder, things changed. Phone support for Laengendary was suspended. Email support is horrendous ! I asked for Parts Support and was emailed a parts (in the manual) I then asked for Warranty support, and was sent the warranty statement from the same manual, that is not sent with the Thunder. You have to download it, and print, the 10 or so pages of crap, that are not relevant to the manual. The file cuts off the bottom of most pages, making them useless. At that point, I returned it.The best points regarding the Laengendary RC vehicles is the ability to use both batteries at the same time, for longer run-time, and the High-Low speed setting (also model specific. Not on the Thunder)My next, RC Truck will be an, Out Of The Box Ready To Run Traxxas. Just hope I don't have to test limits of the parts and warranty departments.Best advise, buy the Asurion Warranty with ANY, RC vehicle purchase.
