I bought these to reduce noise on hard flooring as it apparently (sounds like thunder) in the room below. The difference between the old plastic castors and these is night and day. They're almost silent and move around effortlessly due to the ball bearings. I'm massively impressed.I choose these over the myriad of similar products because they have a removable bolt that holds the wheel on, which means it'll be easy to replace the wheel bearings in future. Some other brands use a solid rivet as the wheel axle, which means you won't be able to replace the bearings.

I had no trouble pulling the wheels out of my herman miller chair and popping these in, perfect fit, no tools needed, done in minutes. I'm very pleased that the wheels are slightly taller than the castors I had, the post underneath my chair was sitting really low and rubbing my carpet everytime I moved it, these have solved that completely. They roll smoothly and look really cool as well.

Replaced for old style castor wheels that seem to get clogged with dog hair easily. THese wheels are perfect

I bought these due to other reviews saying these could be used on carpet.......To be fair if you try to use most normal office chairs on a carpet/underlayed floor you are not going to be going very far. This was my problem at my desk in our study, i had tried large mats which work well until the edges start to come up and you trip over them, not to mention they make your room look ugly.However these wheels do allow your chair to become "functional" NOT fully carpet useable but they do at least move. I find i can wheel under my desk and then back out again with little effort however you still will not be able to change direction unless you can swing out far enough.So all in all these wheels will allow you to use a office chair on carpet just not well, but as there are few other options they might just be enough.

Just fitted these to an RH Extend 220 chair being used on a floorbrick surface in the office. Initial impressions - they are superb. Easy swap using small pry bar as simply pulling did not remove the old ones. I forgot to photograph the old ones coming off so photo shows the pry bar I used alongside the new wheels just for reference. Shaft has diameter almost identical the the old ones - about 10.85mm - works well in the holes of the chair base and referred to as 11mm. The shaft, swivel bearing and chassis all steel. Twin steel bearings pressed into the Polyurethane wheels mounted onto the axle. The axle on these is a bolt with a nylock nut which I actually prefer to a non serviceable pressed rivet. I'm going to fit another set of these on the kids gaming chair which is used on a wooden floor. I'm not going to fit them on a homework office chair used in a carpeted bedroom - because the wheels just grab the carpet a little as they all try to align with direction of travel. I’d anticipate they might be OK on a tight short weave office carpet but I’ve not tried it - just not right for wool twist bedroom carpet with thick underlay. Great wheels for a hard floor. Recommended.

These are exactly what I've needed for my gaming chair! I've always hated how the regular plastic type wheels sort of drag on the floor a bit and make it awkward to simply start moving in any particular direction, sometimes dragging one of the wheels sideways a bit before it decides to join in. These new wheels aren't super hard, so they grip well but also have smooth rolling bearings so the wheels spin really easily.

I recently purchased an expensive office chair and one would think that the wheels would be great. They weren't. They were starting to rip up the vinyl where i had been slightly rolling for the first 30mins of sitting on the chair. It didn't want to roll anywhere and found myself having to lift up every time i wanted to move the chair - to avoid extra weight on the floor.I then thought they must be better wheels out there and found a few, including these which im over the moon with (only went for these as it was next day and i want things right away lol) but these wheels are PERFECT. The chair freely glides around on my floor and me not having to worry about it marking deeper groves etc. Well worth it.These wheels are larger than the standard ones so your chair will be higher so something to think about if your chair arms will catch your desk. Added an extra 4-5cm on the height of my chair.
