They are roughly 8 1/2"x 2"x 4" at the widest point when the neck is not extended. When extended fully it gains about 1" of neck stretch. So the neck and head are roughly 4 1/4" in length and when you pull the trigger (the upper leg) fully back .. it extends out to a total neck and head length of 5 1/4". The head of the T-Rex has hollow upper and lower jaws. Roughly 2"x 2"x 3".So you literally almost eat fully any of the small dinosaurs. When you pull the trigger it extends the neck and closes the jaws. Releasing the trigger does the opposite. Retracts the neck and opens the jaws. You can even get a pretty realistic chomping action going.The small dinosaurs are well detailed and appear to be durable. One thing I like specifically about this set is, with other sets I have purchased in the past, they contain dinosaurs with sharp pointy tails or horns, etc. The manufacturer took the time and effort to smooth out the points and if a point exists for instance, a horn, it is pliable not a stiff point. In testing, all the dinosaurs were balanced and stood up without issue.None of the dinosaurs had a smell or coating on them. Which is a plus.The T-Rex jaws are strong enough to grab the smaller dinosaurs or other items of the same size and weight.But not strong enough to hurt a child .. the chomping action is actually quite gentle and even though the T-Rex actually has an upper and lower ridge of teeth, they are not pointy or sharp.My Grandson mostly has the T-Rexs attacking the smaller dinosaurs or fighting each other in a never ending battle of which T-Rex is the strongest. They're beloved by all ages, genders, nationalities, etc., etc.That includes me, of course.So, here's this fun set of dinosaurs that I got and here's my review. Yes, there is a video with an awful soundtrack (my voice), but here's the non-vocalized version (unless you viewed the video and now read this in my voice, for which I say - "Sorry!")Packaging:So, this set comes in a box which absolutely is me. On the front, the cute cartoony version of dinosaurs to appeal to my inner child and on the back, the actual photo of the pieces in the box that my (possibly too much) older self can appreciate. The little guys are in a plastic bag together and the two T-Rexes are bagged separately.Manufacturing:Excellent work on all the pieces. The little dinos have fine delineation and solid painting. They also have some heft to them, so they stand easily and firmly.The two movable T-Rex pieces are classic hard plastic with a simple, but sturdy trigger mechanism.Fun:Okay, now the real stuff. These guys are just fun. The little dinos can be individual playthings or you can set up an entire prehistoric adventure. The big guys can be used as catalysts or as face-offs (Rock 'em, Sock 'em, move over).I suppose you could also use the T-Rex to try to reach that sock that fell behind the washing machine, but I leave that to your discretion.I got these too late to give away in my Halloween goody bags, so that means I get a year to play with them. I think I'll pose a few of them around my monitor. Because, dinosaurs are cool!

This set of dinosaur toys are super fun and educational!There are 12 small dinosaurs and 2 bigger T-Rex that have extendable necks.They're all durable and well made. Loars (the manufacturer), provides a picture in the description of each dinosaur and their name.If you have a little one, there are a TON of new words you can teach them.The names of the dinosaurs, colors, describe textures, counting, etc.The small ones can stand on their own. They don't fall over easily as other brands.It's awesome to pretend with your little one. This Dinosaur set is pretty much exactly how described. The small dinos are about 3” each. They are very realistic and colorful. Dinos with spikes and tails are NOT sharp and pose no threat to little hands. They are pretty solid, can stand on their own, seem to work fine in water, and well painted. I’m not an educator but feel safe to say that these work fine motor skills, especially the grabbers. The grabbers seemed to be the big hit with my granddaughter, age 3. Not only will they pick up the Dinos intended, but other small things as well. They are not strong enough to pinch someone. She is learning about dinosaurs in school and this will aid in that. The Dinos are a little small but the size stated is correct. We’ve already played with them several times so I’d say they are a hit.I received the set in return for an honest review.
