Can this tool be used to remove pinion oil seal?

Not sure about pinion oil seals, but it did not work on wheel bearing seals. Only thing it done was cut the seal. The best thing I used for wheel bearing seal was a regular claw hammer. It worked great.

How does this compare to a flex pry bar for pulling seals?

Designed for pulling a seal. Rounded edges where a pry bar has sharp edges and could damage the mating area for the seal.

I thought I would be able to use a flathead or something on my Subaru cam seals but since they are hard it wasn’t budging, and I was just destroying the seal. When I used this I had full control and leverage to pull it out easily. I recommend this tool to my friends
