waste of $$$$$$
I bought a graphic tablet without the slightest idea of how to use it. From reviews on how easy Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 2011 is to use (compared to Photoshop) I bought it, but again, I had no idea on how to use it. The manual that came with the program talked about "what is new" to the program but did not explain what is old so I thought this book would talk about the basics but it did not teach me anything I did not figure out on my own. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!! To get a tutorial just go to YouTube.com, type in Sketchbook Pro 2011 and you will learn.

It is OK but
This book is of more use to the mobil user than the sit at home artist. Not bad for the money but not great either.

If you are unfamiliar with concepts like layers and how they might work specifically in this ...
This is...OK. If you are seeking an explanation of the (to tell the truth) mostly self-explanatory controls for Sketchbook.. If you are unfamiliar with concepts like layers and how they might work specifically in this program, sure, buy this book.It has useful tips like leaving little swatches of color in the corner of the drawing so you can reuse them. (There is a similar feature within Sketchbook Pro.) There is no index in this book. The book doesn't mention weird little add-ons like the one for a palette of Coptic Markers, which is floating around out there somewhere. However, if you are hoping (as I was) that this book included any information at all on Flipbook, the animation subsection of Sketchbook Pro 7, which this 92 pp. b&w book might be expected to give a few pages to, it does not. Include. Any. Information. On. Flipbook. The author briefly covers the different versions of Sketchbook out there, and in attempting to explain how things work in various versions sort of dilutes the overall impact. My slam against the lack of info about Flipbook notwithstanding (and there's apparently no book in print that covers this yet) you can probably find most of this information online elsewhere. But if you want a basic book, it is an OK start. If I had flipped through this in a bookstore instead of buying it blindly, I probably would not have bought it for the reason I hinted at above. :-)

I believe this will help me with the program.
Again I have not had a lot of time to go through the book and study it but from looking through it I believe it will do what I need it to. Mainly give me a working knowledge of the Sketch book pro program it tools and possibilities of what it can do. Doing what I want with it will be up to me though as in any tool a large part of how well it works is up to the person using it and the skills they have to bring to the process.

A "For Dummies" Book Would Have Been Deeper
The title says it all. This is a book written for a complete computer neophyte. The paper quality is horrible, on par with newsprint or construction paper. It talks about how to start SketchBook, but nothing about how to draw with it, or the advanced features. Of course, that could be because it's limiting itself by trying to address ALL versions of SketchBook, from the Android to the Windows Pro version. What did I expect? I feel like a fool for buying this book.

Very good
I got this book to go along with the software. I am slowly working my way through the book as well as the software. It is not as easy as I thought it would be. But, I just keep plodding on ad when the bits fall into place it makes me fel good and glad I stuck with it.

Utter rubbish
Published by Amazon in 2012, the book gives an extremely superficial account of how to use obsolete versions of the Autodesk Sketchbook software, using obsolete versions of operating systems (Windows, Mac, IOS, Android). This is the worst rip-off from Amazon I've ever come across. Fortunately it is cheap; on the other hand it would still be expensive even if Amazon paid you to take it off their hands since you would then have to face the problem of disposing of it in an environmentally friendly way.

Avoid it.
I have yet to see how this book will help me progress, as the majority of the information can be found online. On top of that the images that aid the instructions are sparse and in black & white providing no real help.
