Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra - Symphony No. 3

This is a Blu-ray version of a 1983 concert recorded on videotape, with significant wow, flutter, and distortion. The less than crisp visuals are to be expected, but the horrible audio makes this unwatchable.

Excellent recording.

Wonderful playing by the Concertgebauw and Haitink. The reason I gave three is just that the video plays PCM stereo sound and the screen uses an old fashion format. It looks as if very little money has been spent in upscaling to Blu-Ray standards.There are films much older than this recording that have been beautifully upgraded.

Looking at a large selection of Blu-ray movies from different providers they seen to all be 4:3 aspect ratio and there for are DVDs put on to Blu-ray disks. So the release dates are for the Blu-rays them self's and not the performance dates which are not listed.This Blu-ray how ever has most likely been recorded on video tape it is so bad.I will continue to enjoy my local armature symphony and CD collection and forget about concerts on Blu-ray as they seem to be uniformly ripoffs at least as far as the video quality is concerned.
