RoamEO GPS Pet Location System, Small Collar

We have a dog who lives to run as fast as she can. The best place for her to safely do this is in a nearby forest. But we have had a few situations where she scents a deer and off she goes. A nerve wracking time follows till she makes it back. Hence the collar. We were worried it would be too bulky or wouldn't work in the woods. But it is perfect; the collar fits well, and the device communicates beautifully even in dense vegetation. It is a breeze to use; the screen is clear and easy to read. An added benefit is the ability to draw a 'fence' around the location of our truck so we can find our way back to that as well.

I was really excited about this product. It appeared to be exactly what I needed for my dog. Unfortunalty I will never know because it never was sent because they were waiting on parts to build it.

I had my doubts when I got this home. I spent about five minutes trying to get the battery to sit right in the charger, then I finally realized it was already in. Just don't wait for any sort of satisfying click. Once the batteries were charged this thing worked like a champ. The receiver gives you the status of the battery and gps on the collar (as well as its own status) so you can tell that everything is working as it should. And it sure beats asking the neighbors if they have seen your dog. Just turn it on, and it tells you right away which way to start walking, and how far away the collar (and presumably, your dog) is. Hasn't failed me yet. Around corners, two blocks away, keeps up with him even on the move. Doesn't require line of sight connection, so it works in the city or in the woods. The graphics aren't as slick as my iphone, but my iphone doesn't help find my dog. Does what it promises - very happy so far!

One thing to remember with these is the short battery life on the collar. Only good for 8 hours or so.
