Nice looking and loud whistle.
I bought this Thanksgiving and no rust yet. It's a nice tea kettle. It's a nice size. The rust might depend on where you live. In dry climates like west Texas or Wyoming you won't have much problem, but humid places may have trouble with rust on everything. The black on the color may come from propane or gas stoves. I am using it on a glasstop electric cooktop and have had no problems. Even when I put it on the large burner that is too big for it, there is no problem with discoloration. Whistle is very loud so you can hear it from the other room and run to shut it off. If you don't want it to whistle, prop the lid open. But don't lift the whistler or it will boil out water all over the stove. To clean the hard water depost, then every month or two I boil it with about 1/2 cup vinegar to 4 cups water and it will clean all the hard water deposit out from inside.

Excellent x2
I was gifted this tea pot from my mom a couple years ago. It was a Gevalia promotion that she had gotten with tea. I used it *DAILY* for a couple years.Pros:Water boils quickly.Whistle is just right, not too loud or too quiet. It looks nice enough to be left out all the time.Tips: Drain the water completely. Leaving water in it for a long time can make it rust. Don't go above medium heat and you will lengthen the life of this tea pot.I accidently set my too hot tea pot on a cheap trivet and melted the trivet to the bottom. I searched high an low, and finally found that Amazon carried this one. So I purchased it hoping it would be the exact same one, and it is! It still has the great quality and quick boil time. I've been using this one, again daily, for a couple of months and it is still in perfect condition!

Pretty and functional
This pretty little tea kettle is a well used addition to my kitchen. It performs like a champ. Easy to fill and easy to pour without getting scalded by steam. Its whistle is just right, not an eardrum shattering high pitch, but plenty loud to be heard even if you are not in the kitchen. I like that the lid for the spout stays in the upright position after you press the lever on the underside of the handle. It has a large opening for adding water and it cleans up nicely. I would recommend this kettle to anyone. Beauty and function for a reasonable price.

LOVE it but....
This teakettle was everything I wanted! I get ridiculously specific ideas in my head of what I want and I wanted a pretty orange teakettle. It's got a nice shape, a handle that stays cool and the color is to DIE for. HOWEVER, the surface came marred (not grossly) a couple of little scratches, a couple of small spots that look like steel wool got to it, minor really, but I bought it specifically because of the finish. What's irritating is that Amazon had one listed as scratched at half the price AND free shipping. If I had known the surface wasn't going to be perfect I would have gone ahead and saved a bunch of money! It looks AMAZING on my stove though!Update:Finish is almost completely gone, I don't scrub or use heavy cleaners. Seems like the heat causes it to bubble and peel. Sad.

Beautiful and Durable
We just replaced a whistling teapot exactly like this that we have had for maybe 15 years. We have loved it. It has never rusted, but the paint is finally showing wear so we are replacing it. Just love this teapot!

It rusts! And it catches fire!
This one is pretty on the outside and is cute on your stove but..... it rusts! You would not think of having to read the instruction sheet for a pot that boils water on your stove. But after mine started to ruse (inside), I looked at the little flyer that came with it and saw that they don't want you to leave water in it between uses because the pot would rust! Hilarious. I wonder if my boat has to stay out of the water too?I would rate this kettle zero but 1 is the lowest available.Save your money and buy a tried and true stainless steel kettle with the copper bottom from Revereware. My mom has one that she has used for 40+ years. Read your manuals and listen to your mother!Update 2012: I came back to see how this crappy product has survived in the reviews. I am amazed. Pictures of the kettle catching on fire. Medium heat is required by manufacturer. Ridiculous. This thing is supposed to do two things. Hold water and let it boil on a stove. Instead it catches fire, handles melt off and it rusts (says so in the manual and mine did). The CPSC is all over Buckey Balls but ignores this product. In my opinion, stay clear of this pot if you value your health and your family's safety. Seriously? Just because it is so cute, you are going to buy it?

Really Nice Tea Pot!
I've been happy with my purchase of this teapot. The cranberry color is beautiful, as many other reviewers have remarked. My teapot whistles loudly, but it isn't a sharp whistle. No worries - you'll still hear it if you're away from the kitchen. One feature I really like is the button on the handle that flips up the whistler on the pour spout! It's a really great feature! One small complaint is that the teapot instructions say to use it on MEDIUM heat. This means that you'll be waiting a little longer for water to boil. I've personally used the teapot on medium-high (I'm too worried I'll ruin the teapot by boiling water at high heat) and haven't had any problems.Nonetheless, it fits the bill of a teapot. It does the job and looks good doing it.

Creative Home metallic turquoise teakettle
I’ve wanted one of these metallic (turquoise) teakettles for quite awhile but they kept selling out, Here and a couple of other places! Finally......I got one! So far I love it! It is very lightweight which sometimes gets confused with being cheap. My last one was very expensive and very heavy....w/o water! I could barely lift it when it was full! My only constructive criticism is the way the handle slants makes it a bit more difficult to remove the top. I have small hands, someone with large hands would have a more difficult time.I’m being very careful with the shiny metallic finish, I hope it will last for quite awhile as it wasn’t the least expensive kettle that I have purchased. It’s just so pretty!
