For people looking to find a similar size to their own... I'm 5'1", 135 lbs, size 6 or 8, with a 30" waist and 40" hips. I'm giving it four stars because they look like the photo and are decent quality. The shorts are a good product. They just don't work for me at all. I had my teenage daughter try them on before I return them. She's about 5'4", 112 lbs, and a size 3. They fit her wonderfully with some stretch left in the waist and thigh area.For those interested in the details... I accidently ordered medium instead of large. However, there is only supposed to be a half inch difference in the waist between the two sizes. The waist on these is way too small for me and going up a size isn't going to touch the muffin top these gave me. These fit wrong in so many ways. It cut into my stomach but yet still gave me a huge back gap. The waist was tight and yet the thigh area was loose on me. I'm pretty sure the back gap and fit issue is because of my big butt. I was really hoping the stretch would help fit it to my waist and my butt. These probably aren't for you if you have a bigger than average difference between your waist and hip measurement like I do.

Okay, let me start by saying this was the first time I've purchased shorts in about 15 years. I have never felt comfortable wearing shorts so buying these was way out of my comfort zone. The selling point was that these had stretch in them.I measured myself and remeasured and compared and scoured all over Amazon and finally decided I would give these a shot. I'm glad I did because I love these shorts! I ordered size Large and they fit me as expected. I am 5'5" about 130 lbs. They aren't low rise but sit at a comfortable height on me (about halfway down from my belly button). The length on them goes down far enough so that your not showcasing your whole shebang if you bend over. I would like these more if they came in a size larger so I could have the option of sizing up but...they fit well enough. Just a smidge tighter than I would like them.They've been washed a couple times and so far no fading. I make sure to hang dry them so they don't even have a chance of shrinking. It's worth mentioning that these were worn to a nature park and I zip lined in them with multiple water landings and they held up well :)The only thing I am sad about is it's winter now and I won't have a reason to wear them for a while :( Once it starts warming up again I will definitely be buying these in more colors.

Bought for my daughter, size 6, 5'7". They stretch. Look cute. They get shorter in the back as she walks and her cheeks stick out the bottom.

These are the best shorts I have ever owned. I bought them years ago at a discount store that closed in the mall and forever since would not find them again. But I looked at the composition on the tag on the ones that I have, and searched Amazon, and VIOLA! Here they are! I immediately ordered three pairs and I can't say that I am not satisfied... I LOVE THIS BRAND. These shorts come in Small Medium and Large, I used the Mediums when I was pregnant and after, and the smalls fit a little big on me, but they form right back after washing. The material is stretchy and does not deform. The ACTIVE shorts I have, lasted for years. I am hoping the same for these. I may buy more when I get paid next month. LOVE THESE SO MUCH. THE PLUM SIZE SMALL RUNS A BIT BIGGER THAN THE BRICK RED SIZE SMALL. I would definitely not order a size up if you are a small person, I had to return the mediums to exchange for another small.

The more accurate fit option would be "fit varies per color". I have (hold your judgements) 17 pairs of these shorts. I own almost every color. I have 4 colors in both small and medium as they fit completely different than the smalls and mediums of the other colors. I'm 5'5 and about 117 and typically fit a medium. In some colors I wear a small. I like them snug but not tight and also not loose and emphasizing my lack of "asset". Amazon is really great about letting me exchange them, tho. Other than that, these are my favorite shorts ever (obviously considering how many I bought). These are very flattering. I'm super self conscious and really haven't worn shorts over the years since all that was really available was "super low rise super short booty shorts" or "mom shorts" but I feel very confident in these.

I bought two packs of two, the red and khaki and the white and black. As other reviewers state, one pair in each pack was smaller than the pair it arrived with. None of the four pairs were the same size despite all being labelled S. The red is the biggest, followed by black, white, and khaki. Because the material does have a nice stretch, they all still fit quite nicely. The khaki is the most worrying because I have the slightest muffin top unless I pull it up all the way. This is alright because the shorts are a good length, there is still more than adequate coverage. As I mentioned, I ordered small and am 5'3" and 110 lbs (36 inch hips, 19.5 inch thighs) if this helps anyone.

I'll start off by saying when I saw the price of these shorts I knew I needed to check them out. after seeing the pictures, & reading the questions & reviews, I decided to go for it even though I'm usually apprehensive about purchasing pants/shorts online. But still I went for it, & let me tell you I am so happy that I did! I am 5ft & 148lbs . I'm usually a medium/large so I went with the bigger size I ordered a white pair in size large & they fit PERFECTLY but aren't too tight in fact the material is very stretchy. & the white isn't see through. I'd definitely recommend these to others. I will be ordering more colors soon! If you're hesitant to buy these... Just GO FOR IT. You won't be disappointed!
