🚀 Inflate Your Adventures with Ease!
The VMK 12 Volt Electric Air Pump is a powerful, portable solution for inflating and deflating all types of inflatables. With a remarkable inflating speed of 420 liters per minute, it outperforms traditional 120V pumps while being compact enough to plug into your car's 12V outlet. Its patented design includes a built-in cord storage compartment and versatile attachments, making it the ultimate companion for outdoor enthusiasts.

Seems a little shady.
This pump is a hy-ad001. It says the model number right on it. You can google it, this is a fairly common chinese product. The only thing exclusive is that they cut the 110v charging cord off. This item does have a battery inside that can no longer be charged by household electricity because they intentionally cut the plug off. The seller sent me an email stating the pump has the wrong switch installed because it was first production run. The switch was for 110v operation. It will charge off the cigarette lighter plug (assuming your battery is good). I just feel misled, this has no bearing on the functionality of the unit. Seems shady, that is all.

Inflates boat toys; Very Happy
Biggest recommendation to potential buyers is understand your needs versus what the product is capable of meeting. There are numerous inflatable options out there for your consideration. For me, I was looking at a “low cost,” “portable” “non-battery” inflatable device to use on my boat. I have a raft, tube and other “pool-like” toys that I want to quickly inflate and deflate so that I may store on my boat. When I purchased the item, I received an email from the company thanking me for my purchase. The email was “written” and not auto-drafted. In the days of e-commerce and auto-replies, receiving this personalized message resonated high with me. I had two requirements at the time of my order. 1) The unit to perform as expected; and 2) the unit be received within 2 days of my order (I am a Prime member). Both of these items were met. I did learn through this process that sometimes Suppliers have no control over the shipping quality and timing from Amazon; and this case the Supplier was at Amazon’s mercy to ensure I received the product when needed. Thankfully it arrived within the 2-day Prime Free Shipping period; so, I will move on to my other portion of this review. When the company contacted me about the unit, I replied with my intended use and expectations. I was surprised to receive a response from the company a second time. He did mention that the unit was not a high capacity inflator and may not meet my intended application expectations. Happily, when I received the unit it was very compact and very portable. The unit came with a 12VDC “cigarette lighter” plug in; which I have on my boat. To give reference to the type of tube I was inflating, here is the item description (which I purchased from Amazon; “SPORTSSTUFF 53-2155 Half Pipe Rampage Towable”). The unit was able to inflate this item quicker than expected AND was able to provide enough PSI to completely inflate for proper usage. I was very please. I have since used the unit to inflate and re-inflate multiple items on the boat and in continues to meet my expectations. I did follow up with the company with a suggestion to make the unit water resistant; and again to my surprise, I received a response tell me that they considered that option in the initial design, but the “engineering” to accomplish water resistant rating would drive the cost beyond what their target was. For anyone needing to inflate to a high-degree of PSI, this unit is not for you. It will not inflate a car tire, but for those needing a nice portable unit (that have a 12V power supply) this unit works very well. The one negative I can say about the unit is its deflating technique. There were no adapters for the deflate process to work so in my case the deflating option for my toys has resulted in me using all the big butts (to sit on the items) I can muster. But, again, the main purpose was inflation, so I would definitely recommend to others with the same need and expectations as I.

Not a Powerful Pump as Advertised
The pump is a good concept, however there is no way this pump is comparable to a 120V pump, doesn't come close. Not that powerful instructions state you will have to top off your inflatables with a bellows pump. You need two pumps to air up your inflatables defeats the purpose. I have an inverter on my boat, I will rather use my 120v $10 intex pump, works fast and powerful. I purchased this as a back up, however, price is not warranted. I would pay max $15 and even then not sure I would keep it. This was returned.

Had high hopes but they fell short
The price of this pump is very reasonable but it has some things that set it back. The main issue is the cord is too short, it barely reaches 6 inches out of the door. You practically have to sit in the car to fill up (in my case a pontoon which does not work well). The output of air is good. I wish this pump came with a 2 foot hose. The return policy was very simple and hassle free which is why this is getting 3 stars. In all this pump needs a longer cord and a hose at the end would be nice. You can buy a rechargeable wireless coleman pump for $28. The extra $10 is worth it.

Some drawbacks, but still a great labor-saver
This thing puts out a real hurricane, and makes inflating my kayak a breeze (pun intended). If it came with a flex hose, I'd give it 5 stars, but as it is, you have to hold the unit up against the valve you're inflating. However, it puffs it up so quickly that it's not much of a chore. It comes with a second AC plug, which according to the documentation is "inactive". Since it makes it impossible to get the cord back into the case, I just cut it off. Ah, now it fits.ProsInflates quicklyOperates off a 12V lighter socket (doesn't need to be clipped onto a battery)ConsOnly puts out about 1 psi -- you have to "top off" most inflatablesComes with no fittings for high-end valves (but you can be clever with tubing and tape and make adapters)Just a little noisy (but you don't end up running it for very long)Needs an extension cord to be used outside the carEven with a long list of cons like that, I still like the unit and recommend it.

Not for Hobie Inflatable Kayaks!
This looks like a nice little unit and after reading the positive reviews thought I would give it a try for my new Hobie i14t kayak. Unfortunately, try as I might, it did not work at all. There was plenty of air coming out of the unit and I'm sure a different nozzle would have worked but nothing at all went into the kayak. I ended up using the hand pump which worked just fine. I was going to send this unit back but at $8.40to UPS I decided it's not worth the bother. Hopefully I'll find another use for it.
