Definitely to be read over and over.
I am so grateful that I read this book. I had often seen St. Bernard of Clairvaux quoted, but it wasn’t until reading this thin book on his homilies on Mary, that I learned what a scripturally based and profound inspirational homilist he is. He pulls from Sacred Scripture and the Church Fathers and wraps them in thoughtful verse anyone can can be enlightened by. I found so many passages to go back and re-read that I decided to read this book every year. Thank you St. Bernard.

it's not worth the money
very hard and boring reading he would start a sentence and you wouldn't get to the end of the sentence until 10 lines later by that time you forgot what the first couple lines are all about he does run on sentences all over the place. it was uninspiring and boring and don't buy this books not worth the money

Great for both devotional and scholarly purposes
This is an excellent translation of Bernard's sermons on the Virgin Mary, both for devotional and scholarly purposes. I purchased this as a trot (to help me walk through the original Latin text), and it is helpful in that respect. This printing is paperback, but the paper is of good quality and the volume of nice size for reading and carrying around. I recommend it overall.

Easy To Read
I was afraid this would be a boring read but I find I want to read more of his sermons. Very well written and to understand and most of all very interesting!

Satisfied
I was delighted to receive my book within a few days of ordering. The book looks new on the cover and overall in great shape, however, the previous owner made several notes and markings on several pages and that really bothered me. Its condition should not have marked "New".

The best of Bernard's homilies
Anyone who's ever wanted examples of typology in the Old Testament that points to Mary in the New Testament can find it here. These four homilies focus on the Incarnation and Birth of Our Lord. This is great to foster devotion to our Blessed Mother.
