Viper Biothane Working Lead for Dogs 6ft Black

This is an awesome leash for training. It is lightweight, yet strong, and doesn’t hurt the hands, though it does get slippery when wet and can cause a burning sensation if pulled through the hand too quickly. It’s easy to shorten and lengthen without tangling. It’s also useful as a drag line in the house—doesn’t seem to annoy the dog and doesn’t catch on everything. I will be ordering another in a longer length to use for outdoor training.

Over the past few months I've been doing a lot of training with my 3yr old Golden Retriever, and I've bought a lot of different types of leashes, collars and leads to try to find what works best for us. I have a sad graveyard of stuff I hated that I'm going to donate to a local shelter, so when I say this is my favorite leash, its because I've tried basically everything else.I love these leashes because they're lightweight and simple. When I first began my training I had a heavier nylon leash with a traffic handle and it was just too heavy. When you're trying to communicate with your dog through the leash with just a light tug, it helps with the leash itself isn't constantly weighing things down and creating leash pressure all on its own!I own this biothane leash in black in both 6ft and 4ft lengths as well as a 15ft long lead and they are all fantastic. They're heavy enough to withstand my 70lb dog trying to sprint toward a squirrel, but light and nimble enough that I can comfortably carry it with a fingertip. Unlike with nylon there is no rope burn if your dog's still learning and takes off. Unlike leather, they don't get stinky and gross from handling and getting dirty. They quickly wipe off and are good as new! If you're looking for a good quality leash that's appropriate for a large dog, I highly recommend these.

Very sturdy. Feels good in the hand. We purchased the 10 ft. 3/4 inch leash. Note that the brass clip might be a little heavy for a little dog but perfect for medium to large. I debated on width but am very happy with 3/4 inch, thinner might have felt wierd because of the somewhat rubbery material and wider would have felt too heavy. The orange color is great for walking our mostly black Bernedoodle in the evening. 10 ft. is perfect for letting Hank sniff around but can be pulled in close when heeling. Material seems very durable. Hank brings us the leash when he wants to walk and sometimes he will chew on it a little bit but it doesn't even leave a mark. Very happy with this purchase.4-24-23 This is the wifey here. I just wanted to add that although initially, I was not crazy about a vinyl leash, but I guess the hubby was right about this one. It can go through mud, water, snow, etc. and you never need to worry about it. I just rinse it off or wipe it down with some Clorox wipes and it's good as new. Hank didn't chew on this, like he did on the fabric ones. I also like the heavier weight, yet the narrower feel in my hand. The wind can't blow it around and when it gets tangled in bushes, I just give it a good tug and it outlasts whatever it is caught on. It is soft and flexible.

The leash is very smooth and doesn’t burn my skin when I let a lot of it slide through my hand. Super lightweight so it doesn’t bother my 15 lb pup. Easy to clean and durable- there are a lot of thick roots in my area and it’s holding up to the snags. Let’s my dog run and tire himself out so much more in the same 15 minute walk that didn’t used to be enough for him, all while keeping him safe.

Feels durable and has good grip feel. My dog pulls a lot & it still feels secure. Kind of wish I bought the wider width though.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this leash at the suggestion of an online trainer and it doesn’t disappoint! I ordered the 15ft 1/2 in thickness in neon pink and it’s such a great leash. The handle is a bit slippery and it has some considerable weight to it at the thicker diameter but again, worth it. Color is bright and highly visible, material is very sturdy and has no chance of breaking easily. I have a 65lb APT and she loves being on her long line! I’d recommend a shock absorber for any long line to reduce the snap of your dog reaching the end of the lead. Highly recommend

These are great! I have 3 or 4 in different lengths for my GSD. They are light, washable, durable, visible, and strong enough that I can use a narrower one for an 80lb GSD so the long line is easier to manage and not so heavy. Pretty much replaced all my leashes except and old standby of the 6ft leather with handle.

This was in and out of my shopping cart for a good 2 months. I was hesitant over the price, and I already had a 20 foot cheap PVC-coated leash which I figured was basically the same thing. But I finally took the plunge and grabbed this, and my only regret is that I didn't get one sooner!It feels very premium from the handle to the clip. I trust it way more than my cheap leash when my dog lunges for squirrels (we're working on it...). Bonus: no rope burns like you'd get from a nylon leash. My dog's still a puppy and occasionally goes to play with the leash, but the sturdy construction of this makes me much less concerned about a nip compromising the integrity of this leash (I still redirect to a toy ASAP to be safe haha). The Biothane construction makes it good for walking through fields/less urban environments as it's significantly less likely to snag on burrs and other annoying debris.The only potential con is that the leash/clip are a little heavy. This makes the leash sturdy, but I could see it being annoying for a smaller dog in the under-20 lb category due to the leash and clip swaying during a walk, assuming you are using it as a long line and not a short line.I do wish it had the option for a O-shape clasp, but that's just a style preference - the traditional clip works just fine.

Great feel in the hands, perfect length to let the dog roam a bit when able but easily gathered up if necessary, nice weight, not heavy feeling (note that it is approx. 1/2" wide). Seems to be a quality product as tested by our 90 pounder, lol.

The leash attachment is quite large and heavy. I clipped it to the front my my large dog's (75lbs) harness. However, given the large and heavy attachment, it hit my dogs front legs every time he took a step. I was quite shocked how heavy this was and know eventually overtime it might cause injury, especially if he is playing with another dog on leash. It would definitely not be suitable for medium or small dogs. For this reason I rate it 2/5. The leash itself is great, heavier than cloth leashes (to be expected though) and stiffer so its not great for long line play with other dogs.

This leash is really good. I unfortunately had to return it. Since my dog pulls, the thinness of the leash isn't suitable as it hurts my hand. If your dog walks nicely though or you have a small dog, I highly recommend it. It's sturdy and great quality.
