I have become hooked on Stephenia's books. Easy to read, interesting, and uplifting. I find them very hard to put down.

great book!
I have enjoyed all of the books but Stephenia so far! I haven’t been able to put them down! I love the history and romance but most importantly the references to Christ and how the characters learn to love and trust him and teach us as readers to grow as well.

Beautiful Love story
It has been awhile since I read a book I couldn’t put down. This is one of them. Beautiful love story, amazing history and the way the book is written with no slow or boring parts. I loved everything about the story and fell in love with each of the characters. I will miss reading the book however, I look forward to the author’s other books which I already ordered.

Southern Charm
I absolutely love this series. I have immensely enjoyed Books 1 &2 and look forward to A further read into the series. Miss McGees style is pure and the story is tied together with my Christian faith. The characters are intriguing and the story line doesn’t lack surprises.

A fairy tale... or not..
I loved this story of Opal and Tristan. The tale of a healing love for them both. I liked how they danced around each other about their feelings , not wanting the other to know. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Uplifting.
Opal and her mother live in their crumbling plantation home alone. The aftermath of the civil war has left them with little else. Tristan is a confederate soldier who ends up half drowned on their porch waiting to die. Opal nurses him back to health and in return he helps them do some work around their home until he decides his next step. This is an uplifting story of love and faith and the impact of war. Well done.

I Had No Problem Giving This One Five Stars
The war had stripped Riverbend plantation and taken Opal Martin’s father. But when the river washes Tristan Stuart to their doorstep, Opal realizes he has suffered more and lost more. She nurses him back to physical health, but she’s afraid she’ll not be able to ease his mind. When a devious carpetbagger tries to finagle his way into her home, she is beset with worry. What will become of her and Mother and this new awakening in her heart for a half-broken man who may never want her? This was a very well-written book. Some of the descriptions were amazing with pictures painted by a few choice words. This was 1865, but the word “carpetbagger” didn’t come into the vocabulary until 1867. Also, they would have not known to pour whiskey over a wound. That’s why so many soldiers died of gangrene. Ella was a blonde and then a redhead. But these are minor things compared with the wonderful story. I had no problem giving it 5 stars.

Good feel good book
Certainly romantic but seemed rather quick in plot and character development. It doesn't go as deep as her book "In His Eyes". Still, it was a nice read.

A very well written true to life story!
I loved this book! I didn't want to put it down. The characters and events were true to life for the time period. Many became stronger and I am happy Stephenia included this in her book. I can certainly understand their trials and triumphs for all they went through during the Civil War.This book kept my thoughts going for many many days as I felt immersed in their pain and sadness. It made me look around and thank the Lord for all the blessings in my life. I pray you enjoy it as much as I did.
