Changed My Life!
This book has changed my life... I was introduced to the John Delony Show by a close loved one after we shared a common bond in a discussion of mental health issues that affected both of our wives. After listening to a few clips of John on YouTube, I was hooked. Fast forward two years (along with a whirlwind of chaos in my own personal life through workload fatigue & past trauma) - I now was the one struggling with mental health issues (crippling anxiety & outright anxiety attacks in my office at my new job - at the most inconvenient moments). And then I discovered John wrote a book on anxiety... I ordered it and read it immediately. It's so short & simple - but yet so incredibly helpful. With a one-year-old baby boy and a baby girl on the way, I told my wife things had to change in my life (in order for me to be the husband God called me to be and the dad I was chosen to be). I took John's words to heart.. I cut soda out of my diet (I was an addict), started a regular morning exercise routine (along with a relaxed & non-rushed time in prayer and reading Scripture - more than I ever had). And then the final nail in the coffin was eliminating social media out of my life altogether. I cannot begin to tell you what a difference this has made in my life... I have had moments where I realize I'm still learning about triggers for my anxiety (and have had to put habits into practice when intrusive thoughts starts to flood my mind). However, even working through those moments, I am at so much peace now and have felt this way for over three months (ever since I began the "purging" process, the changing of my morning routine, and the new practices in my life). As a born-again Christian, I'm a firm believer God equips us with the tools for the journey to serve His Son, Jesus (and He gives other believers wisdom to help other brothers & sisters who have the same struggles). I believe John is that person in my life who God's chosen to give this wisdom to (in order to pass it along to myself and other children of God who desperately need it). I cannot recommend this book enough, especially to fellow believers in Christ who may be surrounded by good-minded Christians who mean well, but leave them feeling helpless by giving them false information or poor advice (due to their own ignorance on mental health subjects). You're the man, John.

Easy read
Dr. John Delony did a wonderful job of explaining anxiety and offering alternatives to coping with it. Recognizing that your response to anxiety lies solely on you is a hard pill to swallow. Dr Delony's book was straightforward, but it also had a sense of compassion and understanding.

Good information
I like that it breaks down common misconceptions .. I really like use of “ alarm “ as metaphor/analogy .. definitely is helpful information .. I agree the diagnosis method is too boxed and limiting.. He should write similar book with examples geared for teens/college age .. The “ alarm” really helped clarify my conversations with my oldest son

Concise, Relevant, Amazing
From the get go when I read the first two pages, I felt like he was describing my life. It's a super short read, because it skips all the crap. Honestly this book is like my 'bible'. I've read it and I also listen to the audible book from time to time. If you are a workaholic that tries to do everything, is a high performer and yet can suffer from (sometimes) crippling anxiety and frequent crappy sleep, this book is for you. 100/100 would recommend.

Excellent new book on anxiety
Favorite line is something like: just because you give the dragon a name, that doesn't mean it gets to come home and live with you (re anxiety). So many truths in thus book and it isn't all psychotherapy "speak". It's very useful. There is also an additional book out which is more in depth. If you don't love this book, it might mean you don't want to change your anxiety.

Refreshing
Easy to read, follow and offers thought provoking insight. Nice to remind yourself anxiety does not mean “something is wrong with you,” but an alarm for your ecosystem. Anyone struggling with processing their thoughts and stresses in life will find this incredibly helpful. Highly recommend. Would love a Part 2!

Good For Beginners
Dr John Delony is very educated on subjects such as anxiety, mental health, and relationships. This book is a very surface level book regarding anxiety and how to manage it. It can be a useful read for many individuals but Mr. Delonys other books offer deeper insight into more complex subjects. I would recommend this book for people who want a quick read into managing anxiety if you are looking for a deeper dive into anxiety Mr. Delonys other books may be better suited for you.

Small but mighty
My first reaction was disappointment, this was of a magazine then a book, but when I started reading I was hooked. Takes away the negative stigmas of mental health, and helps you to look at it in a new light. My mindset was shifted after reading it.

Simplistic - for beginners
This book is very, very, simple and basic. If you are just starting to learn about anxiety - sure, give it a read.If you can, borrow it from the library - it contains nothing of value to bereferenced to again and again. If you are already on a healing pathway for anxiety this book is highly unlikelyto open your eyes to anything new. Again, if you are really curious just borrow an onlineversion at the library, but don't pay for it.
