Better Than Ears Premium Dog Treats, Smoky Bacon Flavor, 36 Count Pouch

My Yellow lab and my Golden retriever love this product. Unfortunately, they cannot be found anymore. I have researched the company and it looks like they sold to Smucker's. The website doesn't mention Better Than Ears. They have been unavailable for months. Can't find them in stores anymore either.I have found a replacement at Wal-Mart. Old Roy brand. They are identical to the Better Than Ears. You can find them in pet supplies on the bottom shelf by the rawhide products. They are a couple of dollars more, around $12.89, but still a good value for 36 count. My dogs love them.

My dogs have been eating these treats for several years now, I have a Shihtzu and a Westie, they both love these treats. At one time, I gave my dogs regular pig ears, I had one Shihtzu that would get sick, she had tummy trouble and that is when we switched to the Better Than Ears. These can be very expensive in the stores, but on Amazon.com, I do the subscribe and save, and have a bag delivered once a month. These treats are also soft enough to bend and break, or cut with scissors, so I use them as treats when they go potty, or other times, I will give them a third or fourth, so a bag last us a full month for my two dogs. We do alternate with other snacks and treats, but for the cost, it is a great deal, and so far they do not cause any digestive problems for my dogs.

Well, rather, my dogs LOVE them... not me so much. The break down way quicker than a real pigs ear, but with that said, they definitely last longer than, say, a snausage or something of the like. They have a chewy, pliable quality that makes the dogs really work for them... and boy do they. And they're edible... so there's no puke or grossness afterwards! Yippee! They used to sell these at the big box pet stores and even at the grocery stores... but no longer... once again, Amazon to the rescue.

My two dogs both love pigs ears but I rarely buy them because they can be expensive and (I'm not sure if it is true or not) I've heard that some pigs ears are preserved with formaldehyde. I decided to try to find a nice alternative to pigs ears and I came across Better Than Ears. The price was fantastic and I ordered a package of them right away.One thing I thought was great about the Better Than Ears was that it is a very clean and mess-free treat, it also has a nice aroma that my younger dog went wild for. My older dog is a bit more picky about treats and she wasn't too impressed by the Better Than Ear that I gave her. She just guarded it for a long while before she ultimately decided to eat it.The one thing that I am docking a star for on this product is that it doesn't last nearly as long as a real pig's ear. The material is very soft and easily eaten and I was hoping for a treat that takes a little while longer for my dogs to eat, in the way that natural pigs ears do. I've been freezing my Better Than Ears, which makes them a little tougher and last a little longer, but not by much.

This is a great product. It satisfies our pet's desire for a chewy treat without the risk involved in giving him real pig ears which can splinter resulting in a perforated intestinal tract. We originally purchased this product at retail stores in our area for a good number of years then it became unavailable. We now source Amazon as the only place where we can purchase this product. We are regular customers and will remain so for the duration of time that this pet is able to chew this product. If you are concerned for your pet's safety regarding the treats you give him, I highly recommend this product and vendor. Check with your vet about this product versus real pig ears. I guarantee he'll recommend them as well.

I first found these about two years ago at Sam's Club, and being that I had two dogs that loved pigs ears I was interested. My elder dog (now passed away) was getting up in the years and having a hard time with the regular pig ears and had lost all interest. I got these, and she loved them. She had a few teeth pulled but still could tear these up. My younger, bigger dog loves them too.And I'll tell you this too. My hubby forgets to close the bag properly (or simply doesn't notice, you be the judge!), and these things do stay soft for a few days (nay a week or so) even if you don't get it closed quite right.They don't last too long in this house, but if you want a good treat for your doggies give these a go. Good sized bag for the price.

We had been purchasing from a big box store near our home. We were not able to find the large bag for a few weeks, so I started to purchase 2 of the smaller bags. Eventually we were not able to find them any longer at the store when we found them on Amazon. This is the bacon flavored, we only were able to find peanut butter at the store. Baxter is a very happy boy. He loves this flavor as much as the peanut butter flavored.We bought bought both flavors and would definitely recommend this product and seller. I am only writing this one review for both flavors.
