AnySharpXBlade Professional Knife Sharpener with PowerGrip, Gun Metal

I had really high hopes for this product especially when it’s the more expensive version of the well known original product. Unfortunately it didn’t work out the way I imagined. Not sure if it the spring mechanism that forces you to vary the sharpening angle or just my technique but the sharpener just shreds through the blade of my knives. See the picture how rough the edges is right after sharpening. The product itself is otherwise very well made with sturdy structure and quality materials.Unfortunately I missed the return window and now I’m stuck with otherwise I would have exchanged it for the original with the fixed angle sharpening.

Purchased this sharpener to hasten the sharpening on my Japanese Shun knives. The ability to sharpen at various degrees is what is required if you have quality Japanese, German and other brands in your collection. Doesn’t replace quality sharpening systems such as worksharp but rather compliments when you need to sharpen to a razor edge quickly.

At first this product was amazing at sharpening knives, the problem is that the functioning mechanism is made of two (not very strong) plastic arms loaded onto a spring with a small sharpening plate glued onto the plastic. After 3/4 weeks of sharpening bliss, unfortunately the plates come unglued and the plastic arms snap. This is basically a brilliant idea with very poor execution, especially at the price point. Replace the cheap plastic arms and this would be the best product i have ever bought but unfortunately it is built to fail. Please do not waste your money, it will break and you will be disappointed !! i literally do not write reviews on products ever, but i am that disappointed in this product that i want to help others not buy this !!!( and yes i used this exactly as directed by the instructions).

This was a good sharpener, while it lasted - but one of the two blades broke off after 6 months of pretty light use.It says that there is a 10 year guarantee on the description, so i emailed AnySharp to ask how i go about getting a replacement or refund and they didn't reply :(I'm a bit cheesed off, to be honest.

Very good, and I love it for all my knives (even some ceramic). But for those that do not know, it can take a long while to restore an edge with proper sharpeners like this. Keeping an edge is really what this is designed for - on a whole variety of hone angles… Base does lose suction after a few weeks.

A bit expensive,but I would say it's worth it as really do sharpen my knives very well.Update. It broke within 1 year. I have followed up with the company for a replacement part and no response,so I feel this is a bad company to deal with . As they don't respond nor honour their warranty.!.

I bought one of these thinking that it was professional quality. It feels sturdy and has an excellent finish and worked very well for about 5 minutes and then one of the the bits of sharpening metal (Tungsten carbide, I think) came off! I complained to Amazon (who were amazing) and they sent me another one which arrived the next day.Within not that many uses of this one, the bit of metal came off again!I was very careful using this sharpener and followed the instructions exactly.DO NOT BUY!
