Jiu Jitsu (DVD + Digital)

I went into this with little hope. I was just hoping to kill 2 hours with the wife and hopefully be entertained a little. Well... I killed 2 hours, but there was not enjoyment. At one point, my wife said "I hope the alien kills the whole planet and we find out the movie is actually happening right now."The acting was horrible... I can't believe I'm about to say this, but, Nick Cage was the best actor in the movie. The fight scenes could have been very good, if they wouldn't put slow-motion in every time a good guy made contact. I'm sorry, but I don't need to see every attack slowed down. But I understand why they did it, if they hadn't the movie would have only been about 45 minutes long.I rented this movie and I wish I hadn't. Now, please excuse me while I got watch "Fatman", which I'm hoping it better.

Movies have the ability to inspire many types of emotions: happiness, fear, empathy, revulsion. This movie is perhaps one of the worst I have ever seen, and I think I hate it. The plot is incomprehensible, the acting is awful if I'm being kind (Nicholas Cage being a bright spot, and clearly the only person in the film having any fun), the cinematography is pretty poor, the special effects had me laughing out loud, and even the fight scenes leave a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, this is no Sharknado or Birdemic: this isn't a bad movie because the people making it wanted it to be, this is Super Argo or Manos Hands of Fate bad, a movie that is awful because no one involved in it's production had any idea what they were doing.And that's why I recommend it. I love good movies, and I love bad movies, but most of all I love memorable movies. I have no doubts I will remember this film, and if you are looking for a riff night movie this is one of those rare perfect films. Get your friends together and have a bad movie night with Jiu Jitsu.

Script was written by an 8 year old. Filming was done by a high schooler. Jake from State farms was chill.But Nic Cage needs to pay his bills. Please buy and watch this.

Is this a great movie - Absolutely not, its terrible, the story...the best way i can explain - Have you ever seen the predator movie where the Yakuza guy fights the predator using a sword? Its like that, but a whole movie, the director was probably using some medicinal stuff while watching that scene, and thought to himself "Wow, this would be cool if Nicolas Cage was in this"There is no actual JiuJitsu, the special effects are horrible....i mean its just terrible.With that being said, its a great movie to turn off your brain to and drink while you watch it. I watched it like 3 times, its a great terrible movie in my opinion.Id recommend a watch, but dont expect it to be great

Just sit back and let it unfold. Enjoy the weird, funny, and fun ride.Predator vs ninjas, with a Spike Lee/Michale Bay action style with a bit of Zack Snyder mixed in. And the scene transition style of "The Warriors" gives it a comic book story feel. And keeping it in that kind of mindset is the way to watch this movie. Don't expect explanations and don't be surprised by obvious cliches and the influence they come from. Try and pick out all the different stuff that influenced this movie. Makes it a bit of watching fun too. Enjoy.

I love movies with Tony Jaa in them, but even he could not save this movie. The plot, if you can figure it out, is about an alien who wants to take over the Earth. Yeah, one of those movies. But the acting, fight scenes, filming, and directing is so poor, you would think this was put together by elementary kids. Terrible is an under statement.

As a Alain Moussi fan, I suggest you rent and not buy Jiu Jitsu. Dimitri Logothetis, the director and screenplay writer, took his film Jiu Jitsu and tried to update Arnold Schwartzenegger's Predator. The fight scenes needed to be better staged than Alain Moussi fending off one attacker, while the next stands behind his back patiently wait to have his turn. Not in a real fight. Mr. Logothetis, anyone with some martial arts training knows that bad guys will gang up on you in a fight. The few special effects's quality are not up to the level that an accomplished martial artist like Moussi deserves.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This movie is HORRIBLE! TRASH! 10 minutes into the movie and I am regretting renting this trash! I've seen better acting on Instagram. This was a total waste of basically $7. COMPLETE TRASH!!!

PLOT...The future hangs in the balance as a being from another world returns to earth to face off against the best warriors the human race has to offer. From special forces soldiers to the best in MMA, this epic battle for survival of earth will place humanity on the brink of extinction.For what it is Jiu Jitsu is probably the most fun I've had in ages, its cheesy and low budget but it really makes do with what budget it has! Its pretty action packed all the way through, it starts slower and builds up the pace and the last 30-40mins is a blast! the casting is all good, everyone gets involved with the action which is mostly fight scenes, all the fights are done pretty well, even with the bigger stars like Nicolas Cage gets some Alien but kicking action, even though he has a stunt double for certain scenes its edited pretty well not to look bad. the effects mostly throughout the whole movie are decent and the Alien suit is quite cool, its a cross between Giger's Alien and Guyver Bio boosted armour. The movie is just one crazy blend of mental sci-fi action, its a mix-up of predator with mortal Kombat and other movies all in one, it reminds me of something that I would of rented on VHS back in early 90's which makes it even more cool, its well worth checking out, its certainly good fun, it has its flaws here and there and could have been much better with a bigger budget and a few changes, but hell its the most retro thing I've seen in ages and I would defo watch it again.The Blu-ray has a good HD pictureNO special features, Running time 107mins, 2020. How they can compare this drivel to Predator & Mortal Kombat is beyond me.There is consistant martial arts that painfully look staged all the way through with an alien whos a man clearly in a rubber suit.Its boring,the actors are so wooden and cannot act to save their lives,the story is incomprehensive.Yes theres a similarity with Predator but thats where it ends.Another Nic Cage straight to dvd"when will he ever make a decent film again?"The trailer is better than the movie.I was looking forward to this one as theres nothing out there due to the panademic thats fresh for obvious reasons.Dont go here,as the actors and "ha ha"alien shouldnt have done.Good line up of characters let down by a shitty script and bad all round production values.

What is wrong with Nicolas Cage, he used to make good film now they are guaranteed to be rubbish.The plot is stolen from Predator but the fight scenes are so clearly stage with actors standing around awaiting their turn to be hit. Waste of time and money.

Absolute rubbish, gave it 45 minutes before I rejected the DVD. A total waste of money and time!

The whole film was cheap and well it`s just not very good.I won`t be watching it again.Story line not good,CGI not good,acting not good.Just a cheap not very good film.
