The Real Deal!!
I purchased 3 different extractors from local auto parts stores and hardware store to extract stripped Lexus GX470 front differential drain plug. All 3 failed due to poor quality/design. I finally YouTubed a video on my exact issue. The video recommended IRWIN’s extractor. After 4 months of delaying dealing with the stripped plug - Irwin’s extractor worked like a pro! Well made!! Irwin’s extractor didn't wear down like the 3 other extractors I bought previously. Thank you Irwin….and youtube video!!

These are the best extractors I have tried
These are the best extractors I have tried and I feel like I've pretty much tried them all. I am an industrial mechanic and use them pretty frequently. I have yet to have one fail to work and I've used them a couple dozen times. It is very important to drill the correct size hole for each extractor and to lightly tap the extractor into the hole with a hammer. Though I have not broken any, I suspect that the smaller sizes are relatively fragile. I would not recommend putting any more force on them than you would a similarly sized tap. This is pretty much the case with all extractors. Based on my success with these extractors, I sold this set to a coworker and bought the 25 piece set. I occasionally run into 1/2 and 3/4 inch pipe threads broken off in fittings and have a need for the larger sizes.

stuck bolts are no match for this extractor set.
the end of the extractor can fit into a socket, open wrench, or you can use vice grips. perfect fit in tight spaces. hammer an extractor into a stripped bolt and twist it off...just that easy. this drain plug on my truck is poorly designed, so the hex key will easily strip the bolt (see picture 1). first, i heated up the plug with a butane torch. then i hammered an extractor into the stripped bolt. i used a socket on a wrench and slowly applied pressure until the bolt came loose very easily. you hope to never use this extractor set, but it's completely invaluable when you need it.

Highest quality extractors
I have other Irwin tools and love the quality. This is no exception. I needed the largest size to extract a MerCruiser stern drive hinge pin bolt. Stripped two of the special tools trying to get it out, but the Irwin extractor made it easy.

Would highly recommend
Great set. Has the sizes that are most likely to be needed for a majority of automotive work. Don't require a deep hole like standard 'easy outs'.

Great set of easy outs
Best product for removing stripped socket head bolts even without having to drill it out. A true life saver and no busted knuckles!

Simply Perfect
OMG!I stripped two 12 point spline cylinder head bolt by mistakenly using a 6 point hex. ALWAYS USE THE CORRECT TOOL, so you will not be a tool like me.Long story short, I used the recommend drill bit size for the extractor, 10 minutes later, stripped bolts removed.Seller shipped right away even during the holidays.

Awesome.. buy it
My yamaha exciter primary clutch bolt came loose, the clutch wobbled, sheared the bolt flush at the end of the crank..i got the kit out, guesstimated a big size, drilled in 1/4 inch hole roughly(after i center punched a starting drill point). And put the extracter in, tappy tap tappy lightly, gave it a little turn, another tapparoo, then i brought big bertha out(6 foot pipe). I was determined to break something..well.. it went..reeeeeeeeerch..came free.. threaded out by hand.. not a knick or mark on the extractor... mint.. saved my butt big time..buy it

Great set
Nice set ,the first one I used broke but the bolt I was extracting was absolutely seized and I ended up drilling it out .9i have used a couple of the other sizes and the worked perfectly.they really bite into the drilled hole ,use the recommended drill size and good luck.

Use the right size
I broke the first extractor on a flywheel bolt, but I didn't follow the size spec and it was too small. I had to spend a whole carbide bit in removing the small broken extractor head, so they are good material. When I used a more properly sized extractor it was able to pull out an overtorqued flywheel bolt with a bit of swearing and hope. Not bad, definitely a box you never want to have to pull out but worth having around. One star removed because I still noticed a bit of damage on the grab edges of the successful extractor (against a 10.9 bolt).

Excellent product.
Amazing! An Allen key type gear plug was stripped in the gear box of my tractors snowblower. I tried several other ways to get it out with no success. I used an extractor as per directions, with heat and a 24” breaker bar, the plug turned out. This could’ve been a lot more complicated and expensive repair. Excellent product.

Works Great!
It worked great for the first time I had to use it! It easily removed a stripped transfer case fill plug. Used a little heat from torch, than a little tap with a hammer to seat the extractor into the plug, than it easily turned out! Use a slow steady turn while putting a little pressure onto ratchet to get it turning.
