Fusing Fun! Fast Fearless Art Quilts

If you don't know where to start with fusing a wallhanging or decorative quilt, this book has some good pointers. It is especially good for describing the steps to take for fusing the "glue" and applying the resulting appliques, but that's about it. The projects are extremely elementary, which would have been fine, except the price of the book implies something a bit weightier, in my opinion. The pictures are of extremely poor quality. It is obvious that the colors are much darker than the original pieces and the colors are dull (except for the cover picture). I think most of the information in this book can be easily found in a brief online search.

This goes with the fuse and tell book by Laura too. It really is fun and am glad I bought this book. Lots of ideas for projects and good how-to information for a fun non sewing way to do decorative wall items and more. I mainly use the fusing I learned in this book to make "Fabric pictures" that I sew on afterwards to make art quilts out of them, or just embellish with beads and stuff to make it really funky and fun.

After watching Laura Wasilowski's demonstration on The Quilt Show I decided I must have her Fast and Fearless Art Quilts publication on my bookshelf. Not that the book is on the shelf much; as I constantly refer to it when Fusing quilt tops.There are many fusing books on the market however this is one of my favourites.I sew a lot of quilts and so I have lots of scraps left over...this fun way to do quick and easy Art Quilts is going to make a dint in my scrap bag.Thanks Laura.

Loved this read in one sitting. Loved the pictures.

This book shows Laura Wasilowski's clever work, gives good directions for learning her technique. Illustrations show how her hand stitching and other embellishments make her work unique. She empowers and inspires the reader to seek new directions in their own work.

Anyone who wants to start using fusibles to make original work this is a great primer. I love her creativity and bought it just to get a new twist to my current way of creating. She shows you several projects you can recreate to get yourself started.Just the best

I used this book along with her DVD and learned quite a bit in a short time. It's like taking a class with Laura but I can review things I didn't get the first time. I recommend the book along with the DVD if you are not familiar with fusing and design. Laura's technique is easily applied to other styles. Enjoy.

Great book fo r anyone into fusing. She is fearless and her work is wonderful. This book answered most of the questions I had about this form of quilting.

Before I bought this book I knew I was going to be a bit disappointed. I always am when it comes to craft books. I want more than what is usually offered. That seems to be the nature of the beast. The publishers want something under 100 pages, full of colour but a little light on content. Not that there aren't some great ideas in the book and you do get some good hints but it just isn't long enough to really educate you in the art of what the artist is doing in real life. That is not her fault; at least, I don't think it is. I think it is the way craft book publishers work in this day and age. It's a good very basic intro into fusing fabric to create art style quilts or textile art pieces. And if I lived in an area where she was teaching I would probably get much more from a day or two with actual hands-on practice, but I don't so I needed the book.It's a good book and she is a good artist and crafts person. It is, however, very basic.

Hier werden neuere Projekte und weiterführende Techniken sehr schön erklärt. Wer schon Erfahrung hat, braucht nicht unbedingt den ersten Band der Autorin, ist aber hilfreich, weil dort die Grundtechnik besser erklärt wird..
