Best Bar End Shifters for 9 Speed on the Planet
Shimano 9 speeds Road and MTB groups are all inter-compatible. This translates that you don't have to buy Problem Solvers or new parts to swap your bike build from Road, MTB or Frankenbike/Monstercross.I am using these shifters with my Shimano XT M770 group that previously had Rapidfire XT Shifters. The box comes with handlebar cable guides, shift cable and housing (Dura Ace grey SP41), Bottom Bracket Cable Guide, and downtube posts. Please make sure you read the instructions and remove all the parts from all the bags. They put the plastic rings you need to install the shifters in the downtube bag that I didn't plan to use, instead of in the shifter box.Overall, once adjusted (even routing cables under the bar tape with the guides), the shifts are fast, crisps and sublime. I can use any 9 speed derailleur for Mega 9 Shimano or Road. Friction shifting for the Triple LX M560 Crankset I have is smooth and amazing as well. You can also set the cassette shifter to do indexed SIS or friction as well. Love having the options of both.Overall, 9 speed is the most compatible groupsets ever made. There's no guesswork on compatibility with shifters, cassettes, chains or derailleurs. They all work with one another. It's fantastic. Wonderful choice for my Monstercross commuter/Touring bike.

Easy install, great dura ace product
I installed these for a road to tri bike conversion, I use them in frictionless mode for my Altus groupset, work great. They are what you would expect from a dura ace product. Make sure you back the screw out before you decide they don’t fit during installation, you will have to cut the cable sets to your size, it was easy with some angle cutters, make sure you team the inside of the cable sleeves after cutting before you push the cables through.

Nearly foolproof
There is a reason the design of these shifters hast changed in 15+ years. Setup is simple, and they just work.

Great shifters , just .. be aware
Nice shifters, but ones I got were clearly used - had some marks of pliers on one of left shifter, bolts were flying around unpacked and protective covers removed , there was no thread locker on some bolts ( including main ones for shifters where it is absolutely needed )

Shimano Dura Ace
I wore out my first set after 15 years. Because this is a 9 speed set, I wasn’t sure if I could even find a new set. Fortunately and unlikely, Amazon’s Shimano store had them, and at a better price than the used ones I found on other sites. Precision shifting and little maintenance required will ensure long lasting performance. Get these if you need the best!

Nothing Like the Real Thing!
In this day of Covid related shortages, on pretty much everything, but especially recreational stuff, I was delivered a high end recumbent trike that was supposed to have all Shimano components. The bar end shifters were Microshift. I experienced ghost shifting, and just plain sloppy, clanky, noisy shifting from day #1. After 3 attempts by my bike shop to adjust the cable length to address the issue I decided to do a search for Shimano shifters to match my other components. I found these on Amazon, only a couple left. Ordered them and had my bike shop install them. Night and day, they shift smoothly and quietly, and ghost shifting is gone. I don't know how many times I've heard the claim that some brand X is made to be compatible, only to discover, not so much. Nothing like the real thing!

On the money
Instead of thinking I know it all, I like to read the installation instructions. Even if I'm familiar with the product. sometimes there are changes or I've forgotten some aspect. The details are what make the difference. The installation went very easily and took little time. The shifters have been working very well since they were installed a few weeks ago!I am very happy and satisfied!

Worn out in under a year
I was so giddy when I got these: They come in a cool box that says "DURA ACE," and I though to myself, "this is the nicest bike part I've ever owned!" Installation was a breeze, and they worked fabulously for around half a year. Then I started getting mystery shifts while pedaling out of the saddle. The problem turned out to be that some slop had developed in the indexing, leaving some wiggle in each indexed position. So I've been getting by with the friction mode ever since; I'm not completely happy with that either; The shifter has a rough, irregular action it didn't have when it was new, making me think there is something broken inside the guts, which you cannot open. These haven't performed as well, or held up as long as I had hoped for a top-of-the-line Shimano product, which has left me pretty disappointed.
