And when your son shows a tendency to be polite, or diligent, or helpful you’ll want to use words of affirmation to encourage those attributes in his life. I highly recommend this book (as well as the others by Matt & Lisa Jacobson)!

Matt and Lisa Jacobson do such a great job at giving a variety of ideas, along with enough commentary to help you understand how each thoughtful action can play out in your life. It's written in a super conversational tone and is really just full of wisdom from parents who have already been there with their kids.I do think the ideas in these books are geared toward older children/teens, though reading them when your kids are little might help prepare your mind and heart for their older years. (Especially the 100 Words of Affirmation books!)In fact, any of these might make a great shower gift to new parents-- to read and have on the shelf for the future.
