SonyStereo IC Recorder 4GB with FM Tuner Black ICD-UX560F/B

FM tuner relies on the earbud cord to receive the FM signal, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it turns out to be much higher quality than I expected, receiving many stations very clearly including stations at some distance away. It will record the broadcasts at CD quality for later playback. Contains the same operating system as the other sony handheld recorders in the lineup, holding up to several thousand recordings in stereo in the built in memory and added micro memory chip. has a built-in USB connector which allows files to be transferred directly to a PC or laptop, so files can be transferred to the PC and then emailed, which is how I use it as a professional hypnotist, sending people their customized relaxing meditations. It can also be used as an MP3 player, transferring music and voice mp3s from the PC to the device for later playback. there is a built-in speaker, but it is very small, so headphones are required for good quality. The battery is built in, and recharges via the USB port while it is plugged in. The software on the PC side allows editing of the recorded file, such as cutting out unwanted portions, splicing the remaining parts back together, and splitting a long recording into tracks. very importantly for my purposes, changing the mp3 resolution of the recording is possible. it records in stereo at CD quality via the built in or plugin mike, which can result in a large mp3 if the recording is lengthy, but I can bring its resolution much lower, which results in a much smaller mp3, which can then be emailed without crashing the size limits of an email system. All of this for $100 from amazon is a bargain. there is another model with the same model number but without the fm radio, so make sure that the model number you order has an F in it for the FM.

awesome but did come in another language and I can't change it

I had tried several times to save money and get one of the ever-increasing number of cheap Chinese garbage. They always ended up giving me trouble of some sort.I did not want to spend this much money, but the FM reception is superb, and the recording quality is perfect. I'm very happy to have something to record talks transmitted over FM frequency, it makes it much easier to study and listen to later. This is a rock solid product.

This product has mixed reviews, with some saying they got an English version or Japanese version. I purchased thinking that I could simply switch languages (like with the regular ICD-UX560. But there's no way to do that on the Japanese model. I checked and tried translating the instruction manual. There's only one pre-installed language. So I have to send it back. Waste of time and money. Sony's audio recorders are listed incorrectly across all models.

Great product, you can tell it is an old device due to batter life is short

Amazing, you own your music and experiencing again.

Have not gotten to use yet as the use Guide (manual) is not in English and the recorder is all printed in foreign language , not happy about this at all
