Bell 7070576 Catalyst 550 U Lock & Cable, Black

Not much to complain about on this one, I got a catalyst 550 lock. It has a slider core, which isn't the most pick-proof lock ever but it's perfectly adequate and will keep most people out compared to a cheaper lock. The shackle isn't tough or thick enough to survive large hand tools but it's plenty for defeating discrete options, and for the $20 you can find this at you really aren't going to get anything better until you triple what you're paying. Also comes with a secondary wire loop to secure the front wheel, a nice additional deterrent to somebody who would run off with just a tire. Everything is adequately sheethed in rubber so it won't scratch your bike.It's still fairly large though, so your standard mounting position under most frames won't work if you also have a water bottle already there. You'll need to put it in a different spot such as a bag or on the handlebars. The shackle of the lock is oval-shaped, so you cannot rotate the included bike mount into a 90 degree angle for more mounting options. You'll also need a phillips head screwdriver for the lock mount, not your typical bike hex key.

Easy to use. Pretty solid. Should last me a minute.

This has proven to be an incredible bike lock. The only downside that I could see with this is that it weighs a lot. I bike to work and school and it adds a bit to my backpack. Really its not too bad and for how secure it makes the bike. The cord is also long enough to lock both tires which I love.

REALLY secure lock with two keys (one's lighted) and a good stable bike mount.... but she's a heavy booger and it takes awhile to get the stiffness outa the cable (never goes out completely). I feel very secure when I lock my bike up just about anywhere. Can't give it 5 stars cause the cable is soooo darn stiff. Good lock though....

Looks strong and visible unbreakable. the cable that comes with this lock is so strong that it is hard to lock my front wheel.

Bigger and heavily than you’d think.... but extra security & deterrent for thief. 2 keys, 1 with a bright light. It’s great!

The lock is very rigid and the cable is also very thick. I am having some trouble to properly lock it because the key gets stucked (it is hard to turn it to the lock position, demanding some force).

Wow, this thing is heavy duty. Unfortunately, that comes with the weight as well. So heavy that it actually weighs my carbon bike down. Anyway, certainly a deterrent for thieves. Certainly recommend.

For $30, this is probably the best value U-Lock out there. It's heavy, solid, and comes with a hefty wire chain. For most bike thieves, most aren't going to pick your lock. And for those with an angle grinder, no bike lock is going to save your bike. So this is a really good compromise for the price & security.Its advertised anti-theft program is a bit worthless though - they need your NEW bike's proof of purchase (and recent), and a few more hoops for you to jump through to qualify. You're SOL if your bike is second-hand or old.

Lo único que puede ser incomodo es que es pesado, pero dejando eso a un lado, es bastante resistente y el precio vale totalmente la pena por todo lo que viene con el cómo la llave de repuesto, la base para ponerla sobre el tubo de tu bici y el cable para mayor seguridad.

Un gran candado con el cual no te preocupará si es seguro o no tanto el puro candado como la "cuerda" que viene con él son de materiales muy resistentes y duraderos.Algo a tomar en cuenta, es que sí es pesado, por lo que resentirás un poco el peso cuando lo lleves en la mochila, creo que en una Messenger bag o al lateral no sentirás tanto su peso.Es un candado muy seguro, pero recuerda, no hay mejor candado que no dejar tu bici sola y sin atención mucho tiempo.

Me gustó el material, el diseño y que es fácil de usar. Una de las llaves trae un LED. Es bastante robusto y seguro. Para personas que tienen que dejar su bicicleta todo el día en algún estacionamiento público, seguro que no te la roban. Las dos llaves que incluye abre y cierran muy bien, no se atoran.Lo que no me gustó es que es bastante pesado. Por el tamaño y el cuadro de mi bicicleta no pude colgarla con el adaptador que trae y bueno yo solo necesitaba un candado más pequeño para estacionar mi bici unos 10 minutos, por lo que puede que esté cansando no te convenga si la mueves mucho de lugar durante el día.
