Well made sharpening stone, good performance and price point. Recommended!
This is my first puck and have used it several times to resharpen a Husqvarna hatchet. There is a learning curve for the novice but it comes quickly if you’ve sharpened other tools or knives. I typically use water with the fine side of the puck and hone the blade to a finish after touching up with a file. I found using the puck alone was slower going and profiling the edge first lightly with a file when needed, made the process go faster. For me the axe is sharp when it shaves the hair on my arm and this combination of file and puck works well for me. I found a small rectangular re-usable plastic 4.5 x 4.5 x 2 inch container at IKEA to keep the puck in, which is lighter and probably more durable than the bamboo cases I’ve seen offered with some. Just make sure the puck is dry when using water before you put it in the container or it will get a little musty odor.

Works great!
Sharpened three axes with this and it worked great. It was big enough to hold comfortably and it's round design made it easy to use.

metal tin that holds it is of no use, do not plan on using it.
puck itself is good tin can it comes in is of no use, you touch it you have a dent, way to thin. and just try to open it good luck. needs nylon case with velcro close, and ditch tin can.

It's a sharpening stone
It's a sharpening stone and does what it's supposed to. Easy to use, gits right in the palm of your hand, decent value.

An edge up
Opening the canister at first was like trying to get around a Japanese puzzle. The puck is good size, easy to grip. After some file work on the edge of an old abused hatchet the puck and patience I created a razor edge. I used oil on the stone during use and afterward wiped it with a cloth fore storing it back in the canister.

Love the circular shape, fits the palm really well. All the blades around the house are sharper than ever.

awesome for the person on the go
It's a great and easy to use stone. Worked for everything I had in my tool kit. Great and easy to bring with you when going deeper into brush if you dont' want to carry everything with you.
