Good for Magsafe power cords
Update January 2017: There is no noticeable wear on my cord at all. Since the material that the cord is made of is exactly like other cords I've had, I attribute this protection to the cable saver. I am more cautious about how I move the cord but I know that there would have been more wear and damage by now. I'm pleased to have purchased this and will likely buy more of these. They work for me.October 2016: I've gone through several Magsafe power cords for my Macbook Pro (yup, another Apple product). EVERY time I had to replace a cord, it was because it disintegrated and pulled away from the base of the plug, completely exposing the wires. This cord guard protects the part of the cord that gets the most wear. I also like the fact that I can see through it to keep an eye on whether the cord is pulling away from the base, exposing wires - and if so, the cord guard will continue to protect it until I can repair it, if need be. Seems likely that these cord guards will last longer than the cords themselves. Frustrating that the cords aren't made of better materials. Glad there are a variety of solutions offered to remedy the problem. Next time I buy a laptop, I"m going to be choosier about the power cord. The only wish I have about the cord guard is that it would be nice to be able to purchase longer cord wraps. These are only about 3". I put two together to make it 6" and will likely purchase more later to wrap further down the cord. I have worn cords out at the 13" mark since the cord wraps around my laptop at that point.

Great find
These things are great!! they're so easy to use, and work exactly as described. I go through power cords for my iPad, I'm really hard on them since I often use it while it's plugged in. I've been using duct tape to keep it stabilized, and tried using straws, but nothing I've found worked really well. I was pleasantly surprised to run across these while looking for something else. I didn't even know they made something like this, while also wishing they did. There are 4 different sizes in the package, and you can cut each one in half, covering both ends of each cord. I know I will be ordering more of these as more of my cords get replaced. Great, affordable way to save your often-used power or usb cords.

Best cord protector I’ve used
I’m happy to say that this is the best cord protector that I’ve used! I’ve tried several and most do very little to preserve your cords. These are stiff enough that they prevent the cord from bending, which in turn keeps it from coming apart. I purchased them in 5/2017 and the cords I’ve had them on are still intact. The downside is they come in two sizes and you get one of each per package. It would be nice if you could choose the size you need and order accordingly. Also they are currently unavailable. I really hope they restock, as I need more and am tired of wasting my money on other useless ‘cord protectors’.

It seems to work better on thicker materials because when used on thin earbud ...
I've used this for my Magsafe adapter for my Macbook as well as my earbuds. It seems to work better on thicker materials because when used on thin earbud wire (such as those of a apple earpod) they seem to like to slip down the cord and/or twist.Overall, I do like this wrap because it is made of a rubbery material that bends with the wire but it does not work well with all wire widths and materials (I say this because earpod and magsafe wires seem to have a covering that feels rubbery which is different to other wires that have a plasticy coating)

Good for preventive used
I used the one of the two larger ones for my phone cable that was already split and the other on my laptop charger that was starting to bend. The one I've used on my laptop has done really well and has prevented further damage. The one I put on my phone charger didn't do much to help. I found the cord was able to flex so it continued to split. I added electrical tape over the cover and found that worked really well to save my phone charger. Good for preventive used, not great to save an already damaged cable

I figured I'd try this product and at first I was very sceptical but this is PERFECT - pure and simple
I've used several different types of Apple charging cable protectors but unfortunately they never fit properly. I figured I'd try this product and at first I was very sceptical but this is PERFECT - pure and simple. It comes in 4 pieces, small ones are for the iPhone cables and the large ones fit the MacBook Pro charging cables. I split them in half because one piece is long enough for two ends of the same cable. Hope the pics will help others looking to protect their cables. I like it so much I just re-ordered and will use it on other cables..

I think these are working!
I've only been using these guards a couple of weeks, but I really like them and I think they are providing the protection I need. There are 4 in each package, two small and two large, and are made of very flexible plastic. The small ones are roughly 1/8 inch in diameter and are just right for the standard iPhone charge cord. I double them up, putting the larger one (about 1/4 inch in diameter) over the small one, and starting it closer to the lightening connector so that it overlaps and reinforces the small one. See the pictures.

A great solution to frayed Apple charging cables.
It's so puzzling that Apple won't recognize it's been using a poor design and a bad type of casing for years for it's laptop chargers. The grey casing simply won't hold up to the amount of flexing it's charging cables undergo. I had used a self cure silicone to fix my fraying cables and sure enough just where the silicone ended the grey casing layer split again. This wrap on item seems expensive priced for just being a spiral sliced length of plastic tube, but whatever, at least it'll keep my chargers in service.
