John Romita's The Amazing Spider-Man Artisan Edition

Romita Sr. is my all-time favorite comic artist and this book is incredible. Never imagined I’d be able to see so much of his original art. Highly recommended.

A great compromise for those who can't find or can't afford the giant size hardcover Artists Edition. Still the same great content, a fantastic look at Romita's original Spider-Man art, but without having to break the bank. Still gorgeous to look at as a smaller softcover.

I have always seen these books and thought they were just fantastic. This is the first one I actually purchased though and I am completely satisfied with it. Looking at the pages, you can see the artistry and the skill of John Romita. I love seeing the blue lines and the approved signatures on the bottom of the book. It's like looking at the history of this amazing character and this fantastic artist. A true must-have for anyone who is a fan of Spider-Man or John Romita or even just the comic-making experience.

The contents of the book are fantastic, but if you are considering buying a used copy from Amazon (which they claim is in ‘good’ condition), this is what you may get. They should have knocked more than $4 off the price, for this amount of damage to the spine.

Excellent book especially if you are a fan of silver age comics and John Romita. The size of the book is perfect and really allows you to enjoy the art work.

Wanted this book for a long time and found it at a good price.

The book itself is great quality, every page is beautifully printed a matte smooth paper stock. This printing quality highlights the beauty of the John Romita's art and the dynamic inking from Jim Mooney. IDW is a top notch publisher, they do a better job at treating Spiderman than Marvel does itself. The art and contents are some of the best in Spiderman's history. Spiderman was created by Steve Ditko, but after his departure John Romita's art really defined Spiderman and he created some of Spidey's best villains in the marvel universe. Highly recommend this book. Also check out more from IDW publishing, they create some of the best books, worthy of an art library collection!

Gran colección de dibujos de la mejor época del personaje en cuanto a historia y gráficos que siguen siendo atemporales hoy en día, es un material obligado para los que gracias a estos comics y artistas como Romita Sr. desarrollamos el gusto por dibujar. Interesante ver los trazos un paso antes de que se mandara a la impresión definitiva ya entintada como la conocimos muchos.

Edição maravilhosa. Traz cópias diretas das páginas originais desenhadas pelo grande John Romita, um dos melhores desenhistas de quadrinhos de todos os tempos, na melhor de todas as fases do Aranha. Épossivel ver com clareza o grafite azul dos esboços, o guache branco usado nas correções, os bacalhaus, as anotações no canto das páginas, as marcas de durex e até mesmo os respingos de café nas páginas. Uma verdadeira aula pra quem faz quadrinhos e um espetáculo para quem curte esse trabalho filológico que a IDW vem fazendo do trabalho dos grandes mestres. Só senti falta de paratextos. Talvez algum texto introdutório sobre o trabalho do Romita no Aranha, ou uma entrevista com um editor da época, algo assim. Mas não tem. Ainda assim, não desmerece nem um pouco a edição, que é altamente recomendável.
