surpisingly work
I fitted the windmills to a tv aeriel and the hangers to a gutter and they have definitely deterred the birds and work well, I had a bad problem with bird deposits on an extension roof mainly pigeons but crows as well. They are not very robust so how long they last in real world conditions or whether the birds get used to them I do not know but so far so good and I would buy them again.
