Scars are easy to get past...
Heiress Bride (Matchmaker & Co. #2)By: Cynthia Woolf4/5 starsShipping/Boatyard Heiress, Ella Davenport, was once the belle of the ball with a full dance card. That is, until a horrific carriage accident left her father dead and her face, neck, chest and upper arm terribly scarred. Since then all of her friends have left her, she has no suitors (at least who are interested in her, all want her money) and she cannot show her face in public because of the reactions of the people that she sees. She’s tired of her life and the bleak prospects that are available to her if she stays in New York. She wants to be loved by a husband and she wants to have his children & build both a family & future.Nathan Ravenclaw is the son of an Arapaho woman and a white father who is a lawyer back East. He spent time growing up in both worlds, his first 15 years with his mother and her people and then with his father in Philadelphia. But the white world only sees him as a “half-breed” who will never be up to par for them or for their sisters or daughters to marry. He’s even had a failed engagement that caused him to pack up his entire ranching operation, cattle, cowboys and all move to the Colorado Territory. He’s not looking for love, doesn’t believe in it and wants a wife who will be a loyal & passionate friend with whom he can have children. With both of them having either internal or external scars, they are very accepting of each other. They also know what it’s like to be an outcast of society. Neither of them like it when the other disparages themselves and they both stand up for their spouse. Luckily, when they go to town to get supplies, the townsfolk (at least the ones they interact with) don’t treat them as if they are different. Their employees also greatly respect them and so do their friends, John & Sarah Atwood (the main characters of book 1.)But there are nefarious characters who are plotting demise for monetary gain which could cause Nathan and Ella to lose everything that is near and dear to them, including their new found connection.

A great little Romantic escape into the past
A very nice afternoon read when laid up with a cold, or a two evening read if you want to read to wind down the day before bed. It's a romance, so of course it has a little insecurities, doubts, drama and down right heart stopping moments, all with a happy ending. It isn't a textbook it's a romance, the story flows along during the start of a mail-order bride arrangement, while in actuality they probably never had such great folks to work with..[sigh] shame we can't clone guys like that... It isn't so silly you think what the heck was she thinking writing this {bleep}. It is well written, tastefully sexy and humorous at all the right times. The characters are reasonably believable, it is a Romance you know !! While it skips some times to get a lot of months in one book, she does it well, with natural breaks. A new baby is always a nice ending to a romance, especially when it leaves no doubt this family will begin a dynasty. Cynthia Woolf brings in Native American customs without making it a dry history lesson or a flowery or harsh slap in the face. I totally have enjoyed having a head cold curled up with my cat and a good read. It's always nice to spend a little time dreaming of yea, that could have happened.. I highly recommend it as a short get away from today's life and just step back to a simpler time, just note that it is also realistic in what a woman faced in the territories. The only thing she missed was stepping in a cow paddy..or learning to shoot. Ms Woolf didn't throw anything that didn't fit and I thank her for entertaining me.. ;o} Read it, escape and enjoy..it's worth it.

Heiress Bride (Book 2) By Cynthia Woolf
Four stars, good storyline although it had its moments.. Ella was a cry baby throughout the book.. Nathan who was a half breed Indian was burned by a first love, his baggage wasn't bad.. Naturally there was drama, which was taken care from of.. Lots of sex.. Average happy ending.

Great concept - but lack's depth
Dude Review: I got this book due to the ratings, and because of my selective taste for western romances. I would honestly give this one no more than 3 stars but gave it four because I still think people will enjoy this. The only reason why I didn't like it so much is because although the story is very great, you can sniff the plot out from a country mile. The lovin's sweet, but overall the book smells like amateur hour mainly because it just feels hollow and lacks depth. It lacks depth to the characters. Too much time's spent on makin love which kinda gets repetitive which could have been spent on building the characters, buildin the love, which would have really enhanced the story. It just started to feel too choppy where they're doing the bang boom, off to drama, back to bang boom, a few tears, a little more drama, then back to the bang boom, maybe a bit more sexual tension could have helped. I have about two more chapters to go but will definitely finish it.

Very good
This was a good story about a couple who each struggled with prejudice and rejection. The inclusion if a murderous half brother adds some excitement to the plot and it ends happily.

So Much Potential!
After I read the first in the series, I was excited about reading this installment between a shunned half-breed and a scarred heiress. Somehow, the book simply never met up to its potential, but I cannot identify why. The best parts involve Ella's interaction with her brother, Martha, and the animals except for the horses. Maybe it seems to be that somebody is always getting hurt. There could be many more fun times OUT OF THE BEDROOM. I will read more in the series.

Ella
The Heiress was a mystery in away, with a greedy killer. Ella found love and a home and a family. A book for mature readers. It had a lot of descriptive sex. Still a good book. Jo

Nice little book. Mostly well written and enjoyable. There was a bit of spice but it was written in a sincere and honest manner. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
