When selecting a slim luminaire, one should always consider if the manufacturer could integrate good constant current regulator - the electronics that makes the brightness constant and eliminate flicker - in the slim package. All conventional LED bulbs have it in their base. This one apparently does not have it and has only a string of LEDs which are powered by rectified AC as found in few other devices from China. That is why it has a substantial, easily noticeable AC flicker, resulting in the vision strain and strobe light effect on moving objects. It also does not produced advertised light output as measured by a lux meter. The technical specifications do not mention these most important aspects.I am guessing that it could be easy to install, although there is no space for wire splice nuts and one may need some cavity behind - so it can not be installed on the absolutely flat surface. I expected that the terminals would be recessed in the body.I don't think that this luminaire is good for any living environment or home office, and I am returning the one I got. I am also strongly NOT recommending it. Check specifications on maximum intensity flicker.

I rated it 5 stars for appearance and brightness. Perfect fit our living room plus I added a dimmer to "tone it down" at times which works great, some said they had a flicker when dimmed but I don't. I had to do just a bit of tweaking to get it to mount against the ceiling, I had to remove a bit of the drywall to let the box recess flush with the ceiling so the light could. Also, I replaced the cheesy plastic pins included that are used to secure the light to the bracket with small screws and dabbed the heads with a touch of white paint. Since I've done one and know the problems I'd buy another one if I needed it. It looks great and couldn't have used the old style can light.

The lights were actually too bright for a hallway, but they are able to be used with a dimmer switch so that was an easy fix, and great light during cleaning day. Very easy to install, and as an electrician I have a lot of experience with poorly designed, pain in the butt lighting. These were a pleasure to install, screw the bracket in place, make your wire connection and then the light just snaps into place with 2 plastic retaining pins that also come out easy

The instructions and hardware that came with this light indicated it could be installed flush under a cabinet, etc, as well as overhead in a ceiling light fixture. However, mounting flush under a cabinet can only be done without modifications if the house wiring for the light feeds down through the cabinet bottom panel as if it were like a ceiling. The wiring for the under-cabinet lights in my house comes through the wall right under the back of the cabinet, so it has to connect to this light from the side, not down through the top. But the bracket and design of the light do not take this into account. The wires coming out of the light itself come out through the top near the center, not the side. So to get them connected to the house wiring, they have to be laid flat along the top of the light and there isn't enough room for them to do that and still be able to attach the light to the bracket after it's installed. Furthermore, there is no slot or cutout on the side of the light anywhere to bring the wires out to make the connection. You have to bring them out though, because there is absolutely no room for wire nuts between the light and the bracket (you'd have to bring the house wiring up under there to do that anyway - either way, no slot exists to bring the wires through). So for me to make this installation work up under the kitchen cabinet as a replacement for the existing fixture, I had to make 2 modifications:: I had to cut a slot in the plastic side 'ring' of the light up at the top where I needed the wires to come out, and I had to drill a hole partway through the bottom of the cabinet base to make room for where the wires come out of the light itself so the unit could actually install 'flat' under the cabinet and fit onto the bracket. It works and looks fine, but if you're not installing onto an existing ceiling/overhead fixture where the wiring comes straight down through the fixture hole, you'll probably have to make some modifications too.

ALL THESE LIGHTS BLINK AND FLICKER!!! THEY ARE TERRIBLE. I installed them drilling additional holes in my ceiling to mount them as they do not fit normal light boxes. I called AMAZON and AMAZON never emailed me a return label. They sent two replacement lights which don't work either. I just want to return all of them but can't figure out how. This experience is awful. THE PRODUCT IS TERRIBLE>

Nice. VERY Bright, perhaps too much but it’s fine for our kids’ rooms. If it had a brightness selector like our can lights that would be ideal.It is also very thin, which is great!I do wish it was tighter to the ceiling...there is 1/4 gap around most of the edges for both rooms where these were installed.Overall 4+ Stars.

This specific kind is not as easy to install as others. I’ve bought 12 total in different sizes and styles to replace throughout my house. And these were the hardest to install because they had these little tiny pieces that you had a pop in making it annoyingly difficult.

This light has a few glitches. First, not a uniform light throughout its lens. Second, mounting requires multiple holes to balance it being flush to the ceiling. Third, if you want to take it down and put it back up (for any reason) you'll be losing at least one of the plastic double pin fasteners (and they include only 3 in the package). Should've been looking harder before I made this choice.
