When the directions aren’t great, but I love it anyway!
I would have given this 5 stars but for the instructions. It says to open the clips on each end with a small screwdriver to install, without any hint how to do that. I finally had to just remove the clips, and then had loads of fun getting them back on. Then the instruction said to install the unit as shown in the picture, but the picture shows less than half the unit. However, on the positive side it works exactly as advertised. I love it!

Not in the box
It looks great on the picture, but mine came in missing. Not sure how it would work though. I would give it more stars if I had the chance to install it.

Worked Great for month
The product was easy to install and worked great… for about a month then it just stopped working. I went to open my tailgate and it slammed down. The hydraulic mechanism just completely stopped working for no apparent reason.

Get the right part number!
This item works great! Make sure the correct year is chosen. Had to modify mine to make it work. Labeled incorrectly but still works fine.

5 MINUTE INSTALL
Easy install, wrench included. Works great. I would recommend this product to any body that’s looking for a tailgate assist.

Opens nice and smooth.
Works great. Only possible issue is it doesn’t fully extend so it carries all the weight but it hasn’t failed under load.
