Leapers T-dot..Money well spent! + Update 2 years later....
First off, I am no expert, I don't shoot 1000's of rounds downrange every month, and I don't hunt. I am a casual shooter who has mostly lost the use of his dominant eye and is now looking for alternatives, to right eye, right handed shooting while retaining my right handed rifles. so I decided to give this a try, shooting left handed with a right handed rifle....THIS WORKS WELL! (For ME) The t-dot is clear, it sights in remarkable easily, and seems to hold zero well even with the pounding of a .308. The T-dot acquires the target quickly even on the lowest power setting, and out to 200yds or so it seems to need no holdover..or very little....The attached image is of a 100yd 8" target roundel after initial sight in....I am pleased with these results....in my mind this was money well spent.....I Hope this helps!***************** UPDATE***********Well, 2 years in and THIS happens....The lens cap elastics disintegrated! :OSo, I went to the website (Leapers) looking for a replacement lens cap set (because the the rear lens bezel on this is odd shaped) with no luck...now what?? I emailed the company and told them what I was looking for and they got back to me in one day (SURPRISE!) asking me for serial number and proof of purchase so they could send me a NEW one under warranty.....I hadn't expected that at all, the elastic is something that will always eventually fail! They are as good as their word, they stand behind their equipment. Just wanted to pass that along.

A solid optic that would be a great value at twice the price
I'm using this optic on an AR15 and this is a great optic for this gun:***The T-Dot reticle is clear and sharp. It's easy to pick it up. It is well defined without blurring or distortion.***The glass is clear and the image is sharp.***The mounting system is solid and allows the optic to be quickly removed in an emergency***The adjustment system is solid and reliable.Let me say a bit more about the adjustment system. The turrets have caps that are clearly marked, with one hash mark for each 1/2 MOA click. Once you have zeroed your firearm, you can loosen the large hex screws on each turret and set them to "zero". This allows you to make adjustments for things like wind, while allowing a quick and easy return to your original "zero". I frequently use this firearm with a .22 LR conversion kit and this feature allows me to quickly change between my .223 zero and my .22LR zero. Finally, although there are no turret caps, they require quite a bit of force to change the setting. It's not going to be accidentally bumped off zero. All in all, this is a great product.

Great sight for the price
I bought this along side the 3x magnifier from UTG and they pair up well together. The t dot is nice to have when using it without the 3x but with the 3x the side and bottom lines are also magnified making them take up a large part of your view. If you are going to pick this sight to use with the 3x magnifier I would suggest looking for a standard single dot in this style. Other than the t being to big when in the 3x the sight works well. It was easy to sight in and only has about 60 rounds of 556 through it since but is still holding true and I dont expect it to falter. Would I suggest this for competition shooting. No not really unless the goal was to hit targets a semi short range. Would i suggest this for self defense weapon and the average target shooter. Yes I would because it is easy to know where the bullet is going to hit having the centering dot and the lines to accent it. In dark conditions it can be slightly bright but that doesn't bother me and it is adjustable to your liking.

Great sight for the money
I've run this t dot on AR pistols both 5.56 and 300blk with no issues. The green T works best in daylight conditions and has good contrast. I have had no accuracy issues but know enough to use blue loctite on stuff I don't want to come loose. It's a slight bit high but not a real issue. It is heavy, but all UTG/Montrum items seem to be overbuilt and that's what I like about them. If you're a casual shooter this sight is awesome and takes the normal beating of such, if you're going into battle you would buy something battle proven.

Heavy with canted reticle
Picked this up and missed the return policy date due to medical emergency so I’m stuck with this optic.I wish it would have an underlying reticle so when the optic was not on you could still use it.That being said, this came with a noticeable canted reticle. It’s better when paired with a magnifier such as the x3 UTG magnifier (that lines up perfectly). However when not magnified you can clearly tell it’s off. Mine luckily is not as bad as others and is near centered. I’m also not a fan of the T-dot reticle. It should just be a dot. You’d get better MOA and you wouldn’t at all notice the cant. This optic is heavy.. noticeably heavy. However that may be an indication of its ruggedness.. time will tell. You can also swap the optic mount to jet out or recess back.. so that’s pretty cool. And it looks like UTG also has other mounts this can attach to.. so that is nice to know.I’ll play around with this and see what accuracy I can achieve however when I took it out, I was unable to get any shots on target.. so I’ll have to go to the range with more ammo and see if I can dial it in. For a few bucks more, I’d say to perhaps find another optic simply because of the weight, cant and reticle type this optic has leave a lot to be desired. If they fix those issues this could be a decent optic.

OK, shakes lose and eats batteries
Ive had this optic for nearly 2 years now and can honestly give you a tested opinion.1. This sight is sturdy and is adequately rugged. I used it on a Marlin 45-70. A 308 kel-tec RFB and other short range rifles Ive had. It works well and people have complimented on its clarity and 3 point radical. Ive dropped it multiple times and still seems ok.2, The ridicule is bright and can be red or green. no issues really but a dot may have been less intrusive.3. The quick on and off lever style mount is an issue. It it were a long term mounted scope id use lock tight/thread lock to keep it on. but that defeats the point of a fast on/off mount. It shakes loose very often and i cant seem to tighten it enough to work after using the lever on one screw4. This is the worst and keeps it n the shelf. If i put in a fresh battery and after use turn off the redicale i will come to a dead battery unless its within a few days. It drains batteries at rest. I put a thin peace of plastic between the socket and the battery so it will be there when i grab the rifle and not drained. This scope is useless without the battery, no reticle/dot. its a deal killer for me unless i can be guaranteed the problem has been fixed. a dead red dot is a paperweight

UTG 15.2 cm ITA
