Behrens Galvanized Steel Drain Pan, 8-Gallon

This pan was to be the answer to all my fluid draining needs. With a 7 gallon capacity it will handle the biggest jobs. The handle(s) placement and overall design is well thought out and ergonomic. BUT! The construction consists of no welding or solder in any of the joints or seams. Though this may be very green it has it's shortcomings. The Pan appears to use some type of epoxy to seal the seams, even the vertical seam on the side. This epoxy was used on all the seams, but it doesn't do the job. The Pan leaked at every seam. Fortunately i used a steel drip pan to catch whatever didn't stay in the pan. Just to be fair It didn't exactly pour out the seams, but it made a in the short it took to transfer the oil to another container. I will be re-sealing the pan for future use. I was ready to give this pan a 5 star, but the leaking and reworking still garners this a 3 star.

This drain pan leaked profusely with the first use, spreading coolant all over my floor. I thought maybe I had missed the drain pan, but after testing it with water I found that the pan leaks around the seam in several areas and will empty itself in a couple of hours. Leak notwithstanding, the tin that this pan is made of is too thin and so the product is flimsy and I would not recommend purchasing it.I would like to give credit to Amazon for promptly refunding my purchase price. Thanks!

So I was happy with the size as I needed something bigger. After about 6 or so uses I'm done with it.This has the WORST pour spout in existence. If your goal is to have naked oil wrestling competitions then this thing is for you. Just put up a jug or any oil container and attempt to pour oil into it, you will end up with all the oil everywhere except in the container.In seriousness, the pour spout is completely non functional on this and just dumps oil everywhere. I've tried different strategies of pouring and they all end up with it going down the side and over everything...

Pretty decent pan, but was hoping for something heavier in gauge. After changing a diesel engine or if you have 10 to 15 quarts of fluid in the pan the front handle feels less than adequate. I was hoping for the money it would have been allot heavier duty. I'm also not sure how long the sealer around the joints will last either. Kinda looks like silicone or glue. I know lead solder is out of the question these days, but was hoping for something a little better.

Great pan -Super capacity that may be too big for some uses. Makes 20 quart oil changes no problem on the floor.

Very disappointing. Very thin gauge metal, I believe it would collapse if you tried to pick it up with more than a couple of gallons in. The top moon shaped piece (with the lifting handle) is only glued on with a thin fillet of epoxy, mine separated the first time I used it.

Very glad to find this product. yeah, this may make a lot of noise when dragging it under or back from under the vehicle, but it will hold quite a bit of liquid.Plastic ages, hates sunlight, get greasy slick and is impossible to get a secure grip on. There are two excellent handles on this can and I never have to worry if the plastic will last for one more drain use.

It performed as expected. i was please with the size and anticipated durabiltiy. Good value.
