Beadaholique Griffin Silk Beading Cord and Needle, Size 6, White

I have had these strands strung several times but it could never hold up because of its weight. I decided to learn how to knot pearls via YouTube. I studied the different strings available to carry the weight and decided #6 will do it. It’s turned out quite nicely. I am inspired to design another.

I buy this thread often. I hand knot pearl stands and this thread works great.

After purchasing a pearl necklace that came unknotted, I took matters into my own hands and decided to take apart the strand and knot my own necklace. After much research, I learned, you need a good silk thread to secure your precious bounty from the sea. Unsure what to purchase, I went with the reviews and wasn't sorry. The pearls slid easily over the thread and, once in place and the knot was secured, I had full confidence no pearls would be coming off. The thread is strong and knots perfectly, although, you want to make sure your knot is positioned correctly before you pull it tight because once the knot is made, there is no way to untie and reposition.Griffin will be my Silk Thread of choice...

The cord itself is very strong. The needle is a little flimsy (like a "collapsible" beading needle) so once I go the bead past it a little ways, I pulled it to the end grasping the cord itself rather than the needle and it worked fine that way. It was also easy to get a good tight knot close to the bead without using any tools. I was able to string and knot two 20" 8mm bead necklaces with about 12" left to spare.

Griffin is the best for stringing your own pearls. You can use a half knot in between each Pearl. Make sure you tie onto the clasp securely up front. Use some Orly Bonder nail sealer to secure the ends. Then you have Orly Binder for your nails after!

Looked everywhere for silk beading thread and cord and couldn't find it, only the polyester stuff. News flash: polyester or man made thread is very bad. Pearls look their best when beaded with really good quality threads and silk is the best. The strength of silk is phenomenal for it's very small size. Will not use anything else with the beautiful fresh water pearls I use.

Beads nicely with needle attached. I can get two bracelets with one package. Untangles easily and color stays nice over time. Love.

Practical for restranding necklaces.
