Hajime no Ippo The Fighting! TV Series Collection 1

I waited for so long for this show to get a re-release on physical media and now it finally has. Previously there were DVD releases with just a few episodes on each disc and they were almost impossible to find! Now they are on blu-ray in much more convenient season compilations and I could not be happier! Packaging is great and the audio/video quality are so crisp and clean!As for the show itself, you have to see it to feel what I am talking about. Whether you are a fan of boxing or not, the main characters and the supporting cast are so lovable. By the end of the show I was in tears..both sad and happy tears! An essential animated show that should be part of everyone's collection if you are into Japanese animation.

My favorite anime series, this first set contains is a lovely introduction to the world of boxing. The story is dated, but setup like a period piece so it ends up working. I wasn't really into boxing as a kid but this show really sells the sport. Sure, there are anime tropes and ridiculous time slow downs but that adds to the drama and joy of a really great story. I always work out to this show because it's so inspirational.

Took a while to navigate the settings but was very nice and smooth. It plays the intro every time it’s a new episode but I think the intro is a banger, so I didn’t mind.

I've been a fan of this anime for years, very hard to track down and find a non-bootleg opy. I am happy to say that the release is wonderful. It's been upscaled to 1080p, still looks wonderful even on a 4K TV. Just have to keep in mind the source of the material. Great product at a great price.

THANK YOU FOR RELEASING THIS CLASSIC!! You could not find this anime anywhere online higher than 480p for many many years. im so happy this company decided to rerelease this series again. its criminally underrated

I've kept my eye out for this series a very long time. Awkward plot break point but irrelevant. The next 24 episodes will be out soon ish. Already have it on pre-order

When I heard they were putting this on Blu-ray I freaked. Love to finally be getting this in collection form. Great story with loveable characters!

はじめの一歩の最初の方は、主人公が少しずつ強くなる王道展開でやっぱり面白い。ライバル達がそろっていく過程も熱いです。コレクション１では、宮田対間柴戦までです。日本版との違いは、タイトル、スタッフロールが英語表記ぐらいで、問題なく見れます。

タイトル『はじめの一歩』ディスク2枚/24話/4:3/1080p一般的な国内プレイヤーで再生出来ます（再生環境/SONYの2015年～の最廉価プレイヤー『BDP-S1500』）。タイトルで日本語音声と字幕《OFF》を選択すれば、後は普通に鑑賞する事が出来ます。映像特典は、ディスク2に吹き替えのカットシーン・スペイン版吹き替えのクレジットですが、日本人的にはどうでも良い特典ばかりです。画質に関しては、色彩が若干暗めで、輪郭が甘い所も有りますが、現状1番画質が良いのが本商品でしょうから、文句は無いです。本商品は、『はじめの一歩』第1期TVアニメの76話中24話までが収録されています（東日本新人王準決勝迄）。本商品に《COLLECTION 1》と付いているので、このまま2から3と続けば（現状AMAZONでは2までが販売されています）、第1期は北米版で全話見れる形になります。願わくば、そのまま第2期、第3期と続いて欲しいところ。内容に関しては、平成ボクシング漫画＆アニメの金字塔と言って良いクオリティの作品なので、ボクシングファンや原作ファンならば是非とも購入するべしっ!!ちなみに、昭和のボクシング漫画＆アニメの金字塔は『あしたのジョー』です♪
