Wharton on Managing Emerging Technologies

I had to read this book for an MBA course I'm taking on emerging technologies. It is a very difficult read. Its almost as if the authors purposely used tons of unnecessary adjectives and synonyms to make themselves sound smarter. It resulted in me having a very difficult time comprehending the points they are trying to get across. It took me forever to read because I had to stop and reread every other sentence to fully understand it. Sometimes even after rereading the sentence, I still could not understand what they were trying to say.

I love this textbook and enjoying it so far!

It's a good anthology of perspectives about where new technologies come from and the problems of getting them adopted in the marketplace. HOWEVER, don't expect to see descriptions of the next big thing or even how to identify the next big thing. The authors are pretty clear about saying that there's no way to identify which emerging technology is going to take off. See Nassim Nicholas Taleb's The Black Swan for why.

I’ve had the book for a week now and it has started to fall apart, pages are coming loose and falling out regularly.

The price was very cheap, the book came without any damage. And the pages are quiet heavy, good quality

まとまりがなく読みにくい。各章に結論があるものの、結論が章全体をまとめ切れておらず、理解するために各章をザーッと読む必要がある。もう少しコンパクトにまとまるとよい。
