I needed a quiet full-sized keyboard and a simple comfortable mouse, PLUS I didn't want to spend and ...
UPDATE: For basic office use only! NOT suitable for 3D design work because the keyboard shuts off after it detects repeated key-presses. IE: flying around a 3D model using the arrow/ASDF keys. Its shuts off and turns back on 8 seconds later. SUPER ANNOYING and counter-productive as a keyboard.Okay, I was pleasantly surprised! I Ordered this wireless keyboard/mouse combo out of desperation really. I needed a quiet full-sizedkeyboard and a simple comfortable mouse, PLUS I didn't want to spend and arm and a leg. This set is INCREDIBLE for the price! One USB dongle controls both devices. That alone free'd up a USB slot on my laptop.THE WIRELESS MOUSE: Very responsive and smooth. The DPi button is great for the GameDev stuff I do all day with Unity & Blender. At first, I was like "This thing looks uncomfortable...great.", but after using it for about 1 minute I am totally okay with how it feels. It IS a bit niosy when you left-click or right-click. Certainly louder than my old generic wireless mouse.THE WIRELESS KEYBOARD: also very responsive and truly whisper quiet (not true of the KB202 wired model that i got for my wife, dangit). All of the multimedia buttons work perfectly, and the "Start" key is actually the "Windows" key on any other keyboard. The footprint of the keyboard is a little bit smaller than my old generic full-sized wired keyboard even though it has all of the same keys. I like the "carbon fiber" finish also. Its not just screen-printed on there either, the design in the plastic has texture. Nice. Both devices wake up easily with a simple click/key press.Don't hesitate on this purchase IF you use the kbd/mouse in a basic minimal fashion. Unfortunately, I must return this product and get a wired version.

Delay, Mouse inaccuracy, Uncomfortable, Static
If you enjoy hitting a key three or four times before the letters start showing up on screen, if you like waiting for your mouse pointer to register, if you like moving your mouse in circles at least five times before the mouse starts to move, if you like hitting the ENTER key but getting the \ key instead because the ENTER key is so badly designed, if you like chasing your keyboard across your desk as you type because it slides away from you and if you like scrunching your fingers on a small, non-ergonomic keyboard so tightly that you feel immediate pain in your wrists - this keyboard/mouse combo is perfect for you! It's not perfect for me, however, but I have to say you get what you pay for. RETURNING IMMEDIATELY.

Doesn't work less than twelve hours from set up
Well it was working fine when I first set it up this morning. Came back from work and the keyboard isn't working at all. I have to fuss around with the batteries for it to work for a couple of seconds and then nothing. Very very disappointing.EDIT: Deerbrook's customer service reached out to me and offered to send me a replacement, free of charge. Awesome, right? Their customer service is actually pretty great and after my interaction with their rep, I really wanted to be able to change my review to five stars. Except there was one issue...The keyboard they sent me was defective as well. In fact, it was more defective than the first one! How is that possible, you ask? Well the first one at least worked for an hour before I went to work. Lets give it the benefit of doubt and say it worked right up until I got home from work, so about nine or so hours. The new one worked literally for as long as it took me to type in my password to log onto my desktop and then it was done. I tried all of the normal trouble shooting and it still didn't work unless I messed with the batteries. I even used brand new batteries thinking maybe it was the charge, but it wasn't.Kristy, if you're reading this, I'm sorry I couldn't give you a five star review but obviously this product is consistently manufactured defectively. I would give another star just for your customer service, but I'd also take one away for the fact that consistently defective product gets sent out so there is no sense in changing my rating.

Mouse and Keyboard have sleep mode.
Great price! But I guess its true that you get what you pay for.The keyboard: sucks bigtime. When you leave the computer for a couple of minutes the keyboard seems like it goes to sleep. I guess its a clever way to lengthen battery life but everytime you go back to the keyboard you have to hit a button and wait for a few seconds for the keyboard to wake up. At least I think thats whats happening. I really don't know for sure so don't take my word for it but that's my opinion about how it functions. Other than that the keyboard seems just really slow so if you can type at a decent rate like more than 20 wpm don't bother because the keyboard seems to drop a lot of characters. Like I said Just my opinion. The mouse is almost cool but it does the same stupid sleep mode when inactive for a few minutes you have to click the mouse to wake it up it is not a big deal I suppose but as a web developer every little second counts and wasted motions and clicks can waste tons of time throughout a day. Some people might like it and think its cool but for me its super annoying. So overall I give the set two stars mostly because the price is very low but other than that it is basically worthless except maybe for a kid or for use with a laptop that you hook to your tv or something like that but for daily hardcore use no way.

You get what you pay for
I needed just a cheap mouse and keyboard combo for a KVM switch I rarely use. I used the keyboard and mouse maybe 10 times throughout a 6 months period. Once 6 months hit the mouse and keyboard both stopped working. The mouse had eaten through the batteries after only 10 uses so clearly there is no battery saver mode in the mouse. Only the on/off button. Replacing new batteries made the mouse work. The keyboard on the other hand corroded the batteries to the point where I would need to open the keyboard and try to get to the battery compartment to clean the contacts because they were heavily coated with corrosion. I threw it in the trash. Not worth my time. I will continue to use the mouse until it decides to die or corrode the batteries. I would never buy OfficeTec products again. Clearly in this case you get what you pay for.
