Tastes great and looks so fancy !

I love chocolate seven layer cake from brooklyn. This cake was so dry and not tasty at all.

I was so excited for this to arrive…and so disappointed. It’s so dry it’s like chewing a mouthful of crackers. Warming in the microwave doesn’t even help this poor excuse for a torte. The only reason it got one star was because it wouldn’t let me give zero! I will just stay with Hickory Farms torte. Thanks for nothing, this went in the garbage. I hate wasting food, but this one didn’t resemble food in any way.

Pretty good. I was trying to find something that came close to a NY bakery that made this. It's pretty close in flavor. I thought the layer frosting was going to be dark chocolate, but this is mocha. I'll order their Black & White version.

Bakeries have mostly closed around my area, so I haven't had a really great 7 layer cake in awhile. This is delicious but I must say the amount of outer icing is a little too much and the filling in between the layers is too little. I've never been known to complain about too much really rich, thick, chocolate icing however it is just a little too thick for the ratio of actual cake. The layers are supposed to be thin, but these are more of a cake texture than the dryer, almost crisper style of torte layer of the old days. It is a very tasty cake and almost hit the mark for what my taste buds were waiting for. I must say read the instructions about freezing so you are able to remove the wax paper outer layers without damaging the frosting or the cake. It is packaged very well and with care.

The cake is delicious and beyond expectations- the frosting didn’t stick to the wax paper at all. I think some people must have just unwrapped it while it was still warm… I put one in the fridge upon arrival and froze the others. It was fresh and tasty and just right in terms of taste and texture, comparable to Star bakery of Southfield Michigan or Schreiner’s bakery of Jerusalem. Can’t wait to order more!

I am so disappointed! What's wrong with this picture? This is supposed to be a seven layer cake. It is only six layers. It is dry and tasteless. It came to Nevada from New York in a cardboard box with a single layer of brown paper on the top. No cooling. No insulation. No packing material. Two plastic containers of cake not even sealed tight. Flopping around in the big box. And the box got crushed during shipment. So one of the cakes got crushed, too. I certainly won't order again. ... and don't even think it is 1% like a dobos torte. It is a dry yellow cake of tiny layers with almost tasteless chocolate in between them.
