A bit better than average tasting Dark roast blend
This coffee blend mentions that it is a blend of, "Arabica coffee beans from Asia and the Americas ". After drinking a few cups of this coffee, it does strike me as a house blend. Nothing really pops about it's taste, it has a subtle, dark roast taste to it, but there isn't much that stands out about it. There are some flavor notes mentioned on the package, "Caramelized Sugar, Dark Chocolate", but I didn't pick up much on that. Also mentioned is, "Smooth, Sweet, Robust". I think, "Smooth" is the best word to describe this coffee, out of all of the flavor notes mentioned. The coffee has a smooth taste, but nothing else really stands out about it.Overall, the coffee is alright, just a bit, plain and average Dark Roast taste for me.

A bold, robust coffee with subtle overtones of dark chocolate and caramelized sugar ...
I do love a good cup of espresso, a designer-like cup without the hefty price tag attached. I do a lot of home brewing and have been trying several different types, including one other espresso. There’s no intensity level like some coffees have, especially Nespresso pods. This is rated as Dark, most likely with a higher intensity of ten or so. If you like your coffee strong and black, you’ll enjoy this blend. No barista here, but like everyone else, I do know what kind of coffee I enjoy. I do like a more robust coffee while another friend prefers a medium roast. Sometimes I’m not fussy and will enjoy both types, but don’t care for blonde blends. I ground my own beans, but for my taste test I didn’t do a fine ground for an espresso blend. The roast was good and there was no aftertaste or bitterness. I sipped it black and found it to be a bold and robust blend.I tried it black, but quickly added a bit of cream and sugar to taste. Barrie House does know how to roast and blend their beans, but if you’re brewing at home, rest assured, you’ll be getting that designer-like taste. It does taste somewhat like a similar Starbucks blend, but not as strong. I do appreciate the fact that it’s Fair Trad and does have that USDA Organic seal.

Flat & not a lot of depth
The office has a new Breville espresso maker so I brought in some coffee beans for people to use. This one did not get a great review from my office mate who thought her Americano didn't have a lot of depth and was kind of flat.

Absolutely Fantastic Coffee For Everyday Drinking
Lately I've tried a lot of different "specialty" coffees available on Amazon. By specialty, I mean they typically cost somewhere around $20/lb for some reason. Most of them are average at best. I'd call them "shelf" coffees. I have a cup or two, am not impressed and put them on the shelf for when I run out of better coffee or someone comes over who wants to try them. This Espresso Roast from Barrie House is on a whole different level. It's pretty dark but not too dark. It is super rich, has an awesome smell in the bag or brewed and goes great with a flavored creamer or not. It's also much less expensive than many of these other roasters who sometimes make wild health or taste claims that just don't add up.If you want an awesome, dark, rich, smooth coffee to drink daily, order this Barrie House Espresso Roast. It's just really, Really, REALLY great coffee! You won't be disappointed with this coffee and the price is reasonable.

Doesn't have the robust flavor I expected from espresso roast
Barrie House Espresso Roast Whole Bean Coffee, 10oz Bag | Fair Trade Organic Certified | Dark Roast | Sweet and Robust Flavor | 100% Arabica Coffee BeansThis is perfectly serviceable coffee. It is not the tastiest we've ever tried - for an espresso roast, it doesn't have that very robust deep flavor that I expected, but felt a little flat. If I hadn't known it was espresso roast, I probably wouldn't have thought anything of that - but for that type of roast it was a bit underwhelming. It tastes fine - just nothing spectacular.

Espresso Roast Coffee
This is a very rich tasting coffee. I didn't make espresso with it but rather ground it regular for coffee and it tastes heavenly! I notice a hint of brown sugar taste but it's very smooth and not the least bit bitter at all. Even if you typically add a bit of sugar to cut the bitterness in your coffee, you may not need to with this. It's so smooth tasting and has a nice depth of flavor. It's very fresh tasting and smelling as well. As soon as I opened the bag, I noticed the fresh aroma of fresh roasted beans. The beans are very dark and rich colored. You can see the gorgeous coffee oils on the beans which tells you that you're in for a delicious cup of coffee!

Smooth flavor
This has a smooth flavor, and I like that it isn't bitter at all. However, I couldn't detect a caramelized sugar or chocolate flavor. If all you're looking for is a non-bitter coffee, this will work for you. If you're looking for something a bit more exotic, this isn't the one.
